The outdoor patio was lovely at night. The food was presented beautifully. I had Cod and a side of vegetables. I would have liked to see a more extensive menu.

Excellent food and service was very good. They also offered us several complimentary items such as after dinner drink and samples of another dish that hadn’t ordered. Staff was fun and attentive

We were very happy we chose LaCaravella to celebrate our 35th anniversary. From the moment we arrived the staff were very pleasing and attentive. Thank you all for making our night most enjoyable.

Christmas eve lunch, not too busy and service very attentive. The menu choices were perfectly adequate and the food quality extremely good. Will return later in the week.

It was an expensive restaurant but it was a special occasion for my daughters birthday in Venice. Situated in the perfect location to attend the M7sic Museum for a Vivaldi concert about 5 mins walk away. The food was divine with a vegetarian option around €35. Its mostly fish but I had steak which was €50. The staff were attentive, had a great sense of humour, sang happy birthday in Italian which I thought was for the next table as I can't remember saying it was her birthday but that's my age, so that was a real surprise. She hates surprises but she loved it! It was all round fabulous and the desserts were delicious nothing like I've tasted before. There were 2 families with primary age children, friends, others mothers treating their daughters and of course couples. I wouldn't say it was for children but what's not to like.

The dinner was served way too fast and the meat in the cottoleta milanese was blue and not good at all. The apetizers were tasty though, and the restaurant itself was nice.
La CaravellaDear Ms. Mardare the professionalism of our staff is usually really appreciated by our guests so we have been investigating further what happened during your dinner. Regarding the cotoletta alla milanese, the meat is culled for three and a half hours and cooked at a low temperature to enhance the flavor, then served, with its classic pink color... the staff usually explains this, so if you had told us you did not like it, we could have cooked it longer or suggested something else. My husband and I had a delicious dinner here our last night in Venice- wonderful ambiance, delicious food and great service! We enjoyed the Irish fed beef with cherry sauce and the sea bass. Then we split the tiramisu for dessert.

When we first arrived at La Caravella for lunch, we were the only guests in the dining room, so the undivided attention of three staff members was a bit daunting. However, we ended up having a lovely meal and ultimately enjoyed the excellent service. It was also windy weather outside, so the enclosed dining room which was open to the outside but which was not subject to the wind was a nice setting. They turned on their heaters and it was very comfortable.

Such a great restaurant! The food is amazing, It is tucked back a bit off the beaten path which we loved and was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and fun! Would highly recommend and will definitely go back!

The entire staff from the moment we walked in until saying goodbye made my husbands 60th birthday celebration so special!! Cristi, Gabriele, Ivan, Giulio, Wanda & Sijan all made us feel like family! They were so patient with our lack of Italian & were so attentive to our needs! The food was delicious and thanks go to the Chef, Marzio, who came to our table! The specially made chocolate mousse cake by Chef Elena was out of this world delicious!! Would highly recommend this restaurant & hope to come back some day!!

Beautiful presentation and deliciously fresh seafood. The staff was very attentive and provided superb recommendations from food to a bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend and will return on my next trip.

Superb quality food, excellent highly professional staff with a deft humourous touch to make for a relaxed atmosphere. Spacious seating. Best meal in Venice by a long way. Book in advance as they were turning people away.

We ate here our last night in Venice. The food was incredible- we went with our boys 19-23 and they loved it also. The service was top notch; beautiful setting for a nice dinner with elegant food prep and presentation. Highly recommend!

The waitstaff was incredible- attentive, engaging, knowledgeable, and so friendly. We had such a great time! All of our food was excellent and presented so beautifully. Our favorite restaurant we’ve been to in Italy!

We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant while in Venice. The service was great, and the food was beautiful and delicious. One of the dishes we asked about wasn't on the menu. They, however, were happy to accommodate us.

Everyone should experience the service at La Caravella at least once in their life. The food and ambience alone are worth the visit but the Team concept service, and joy the staff receive in treating all customers as special, native speakers or not, is truly remarkable. The staff play off each other without stepping over each other. If you are gluten free, their ability to turn what looks like a 20% acceptable menu into an 80% acceptable menu is a real treat. The Tartare di Filetto d Manzo was an outstanding start, full of flavor. Tagliolini Granseola e Asparagi and Bigoli al Ragu' D' Anatra felt large for first courses but we were only disappointed that we felt we wanted to save room for the Filettino Di Rombo Chiodata Sulla Pelle, which was light and well seasoned and delicious. Save room for the Tiramisu Caravella which you couldn't even tell had been modified to be gluten free. Outstanding wine list, with great value throughout. The Pieropan Soave had more than enough depth to pair with all non-dessert courses. Try their vin santo with dessert. Mille Grazie La Caravella.

From Tripadvisor reviews and the fact this restaurant is situated in the 'expensive area' of Venice (directly opposite the Giorgio Armani shop), we expected an enjoyable meal. My first mistake was ordering a bellini on arrival. As Venice is where this cocktail originated, I expected them to be able to get this right - after all, it's just prosecco and peach juice, right? In fact I have never had a bad one - until I came here. I don't know what type of peach juice they used but it was terrible, so much so that I couldn't even finish the drink. The staff then got our starters order wrong, 3 times. They didn't apologise but instead tried to make a joke of it (badly). I ended up eating my starter well after the rest of my family had had theirs so they were sat around twiddling their thumbs while I ate and I did the same whilst they ate. The mains were fine, not memorable, desserts were uninspiring but my husband decided to try the souffle (to be told the flavour on the menu was not correct (chocolate) as "it is impossible to make a chocolate souffle because the cocoa fats in the chocolate means it will not rise" (so why did they list it on the menu in the first place?)) Instead they served a vanilla souffle with an amaretto sauce. The souffle had barely risen and was over cooked - it had the texture and flavour of scrambled egg custard. The staff's attitude throughout was verging on sarcastic (don't think it was a translation issue), they seemed to feel the need to try to make a joke of everything, unnecessarily and inappropriately. Needless to say, we paid and left, never to return - very, very disappointing.

Lauder, the Bellini was prepared by our Il Caravellino Bar, famous for its aperitifs and cocktails, and luckily we just got a review saying it was great, which confirms their professionalism. However, if you didn't like it, you could have informed us and we would have definitely suggested doing it again or it wouldn't have been billed. As far as the starter is concerned, we believe it was difficult for it to be wrong three times while regarding the souffle, it is usually a dessert much appreciated by our guests but again, if you did not like it, you could have informed us. The kindness and professionalism of our staff is usually praised, and they probably kept joking because someone at your table was playing along otherwise I don't think they would have continued after the first joke if they realized it was not appreciated. best regards marianna serandrei - owner
