10/10La Estrella 1924 has so much charm and history and very much worth the visit as the food is spectacular and very fresh. This is a family owned business and the current owner is the 4th generation of La Estrella. He oversees the front of the house and his daughter is cooking in the kitchen. Some samplings of our meal were appetizers of cod and mushroom croquettes, Iberian ham, reindeer carpaccio and truffle oil artichokes; main course of Mediterranean Sea bass and Hake with scallops; and dessert of hazelnut baked good with ice cream and pot au chocolat.

9.5/10The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive! I had the seasoned rice and hake with scallops - both were delicious. I felt this was very traditional cooking. I would definitely come here again and I recommend it to others.

10/10This restaurant is amazing!! It has the wonderful combination of authentic but unusual dishes which are expertly cooked and beautifully presented. Add a passionate owner who takes time to explain all the dishes and you have all you need for a unique and fulfilling evening. Everything was so good but the Salmon tartar, tuna and goats cheese ice cream were stand outs! All enhanced by a delicious red from a limited bottle production. If you love experimenting with top quality food then get to La Estrella as soon as you can!

4/10I rarely if ever write a bad review, but.... The food was the worst I've had anywhere in Barcelona at any price. The appetizers were average at best. The cheeks were mostly soft fat throughout. The sea bass had absolutely no taste. Never once did either of the 2 servers come back & check on us. Finally I ordered a coffee americano & got an expresso & the server left before I could correct the error. I could go on, but I won't. Do yourself a favor and find another place to eat; there are so many bettrr places. What a disappointment!

6/10I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance for my trip to Barcelona. We arrive right on time and were the first people in the restaurant. The owner sat us right next to the entance to the toilets. In my book, this is very disrespectful when the entire restaurant is empty. When I asked for a different table, the owner told me he was fully booked. I wonder why he thought we were not worthy of a better spot. The food was ok, but nothing out of ordinary. Or maybe being disappointed on the first 5 minutes ruined the experience. When the wine finished earlier than our meals, I wanted to get a 2nd bottle. The guy forgot my request for the wine menu. He was obviously more tentative to other customers. Weird because I am pretty sure I was probably running one of the highest tabs that night. He remembered to bring the menu right around we decided to leave at 10 pm. Coincidentally, that’s the same time the last table was filled at a better spot. Maybe, the owner doesn’t think much of anyone under 50. As far as I could see, apart from us, that was the demographics of the clientele. This was one of rare occasions that I did not leave a tip.

10/10Amazing place, excellent tapas inspired by traditional cuisine and super delicious desserts. Very good quality price - ratio. Impeccable service and good suggestions for every taste. Definitely recommended. We will return!

10/10Amazing restaurant! Family run, every plate has a story that Jordi will carefully explain. All about local and seasonal products cooked with love by his wife. Explosion of flavors in absolutely every spoon. 99 out of 100, and only because I don’t think 100 exists. Go and enjoy the Catalan cousine!!!

9.5/10This little restaurant is really a must have in foodies list. Traditional cuisine revisited with innovative and amazing proposals. Excellent product with special focus on seasonal ones. Deserts are a jewell. Don't miss them!!!! Service is super kind and expert in what they have in the menu. Let you guide and consider their recommendations. Amazing cellar with niche wines with and excellent price-quality ratio. In my list of BEST Restaurants in Barcelona.

10/10The proprietor was warm and welcoming, the seafood dishes and desserts we're great (as was the amuse bouche). We got a lovely bottle of white for just a bit more than what a glass would cost in the States.

10/10Outstanding!!!!! After upscaled ( and priced) Hisop., along with traditional Set Portes) This is the VERY BEST RESTAURANT IN BARCELONA everything suggested ( we asked) was delicious, should I say stupidly DELICIOUS . Food brought from small producers. Wine espectacular and more than attractive price. Owner comes to each table to explain what they got for today. Reasonable price. Quality and freshness of the food 10. Keep in mind I’m a LOCAL and I have been in places in Barcelona..... Good luck

9.5/10Went there for lunch around 130pm and the place was empty. Reserved the previous night but cancelled it as there wasn’t anyone inside eating when we went and the area is quite dim outside including the narrow street leading to the restaurant. I’m a restaurateur myself and would recommend to the owner if he can possibly brighten up the outside entrance to highlight the place and make it more attracting.... The owner simply is great personally handling customers and making off the menu recommendations..... I’ll be back next time I’m in Barcelona....

4/10We went to the Estrella on a friend's recommendation and had high expectations. When reserving online, we wrote in the comments box that one of us (we were two) was vegetarian. This should have elicited a response from the restaurant if they do not accommodate vegetarians, or they should have had at least one vegetarian main dish option. They did not. They came up with an adequate (but not exciting) starter dish, but offered mushrooms as the main dish. Mushrooms alone. We asked that they make a dish including mushrooms, as a plate of mushrooms does not make a main dish. They came up with adding chard. What they served was a plate of chopped chard and mushrooms drowning in butter. This was the least interesting "vegetarian" dish ever offered us by nonvegetarian restaurants. And, the mushrooms were very standard "button mushrooms," not even wild mushrooms or mixed mushrooms. Finally, to top this all off, they charged as much for that dish as they did for the nonvegetrian main dish (fish).

7.5/10The bacalao, capriccio, and huevos estrellados were all excellent. The beef tenderloin had good flavor, but the tenderness doesn't compare to American beef. Service is very friendly, but a little slow. I will go back and try more of their dishes. Happy to have found a nice Catalan dining experience. Price was €105 for two appetizers, two mains, two desserts and a bottle of wine. Felt like it was a good value for the money.
