Great quality classic Roman food. Our party of three had the trippa, coda vaccinara, and the saltimbocca. All tasted great without being too greasy or heavy. The side dishes of artichokes and chicory were also delicious. Had a little miscommunication with what we wanted for the antipasto but it is entirely my fault for speaking english too quickly in a different country. Still they fixed all the issues and treated us well. Would go back again if I'm ever back in Rome.

We did not have a good experience. I mentioned that my bowl of pasta was cold on the outside and just warm in the middle and didn’t really taste nice. He started shouting at me, did not offer to replace it, then when I left he ridiculed me in front of all his kitchen staff aggressively and humiliated me. Not a nice experience for a female tourist. I would avoid completely this restaurant. I should have know you walk through lots of people smoking by the front entrance and then after the steep stairs as you enter the restaurant it smells of sewage.

Lovely place, good service, great food. Out of the madness of the rest of Trastevere. Good wine - cozy and fun

Our daughter had a birthday, so we chose this traditional restaurant to celebrate. We are very satisfied with the food, staff and whole atmosphere. We tried all the roman tradicional dishes - carbonara, caccio e pepe, saltimboca and of course the perfect tiramisu. Theyx suprised our daughter with a candle in her cake so it was really nice.

Staff e carbonara TOP.

Rigatoni with Oxtail was very good. Other items (zucchini flower with anchovy, ricotta with honey, rigatoni with Gricia) were just okay. Was seated in a corner that had a slight sewer smell.

A super location with an interesting history. The food is average and priced appropriately. The service is spotty and even stressful. The wine is list is basic and the staff seems to not be well informed about the higher end bottles. In fact, the wine listed was not the wine delivered - even at 170 EUROS! There is a lot of room for improvement at La Gattabuia.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was friendly and efficient; we also really enjoyed the musicians playing Frank Sinatra standards when we arrived.

Food was good. Service was not. Be aware if you are American, staff is not the most friendly to us.

Great service lovely restaurant. Although a tip for the chef - less salt on the dishes would be much better

We showed up on a night they had a special event. There was a guitar player and someone who seemed to be an owner singing well known Italian songs. It was a vibrant atmosphere, the food was well prepared, and the wine list was extensive. it was a great experience.

Loved it. We wanted a change from just pasta and pizza in Rome (not that their pasta wasn’t good). The lamb chops and steak were great, our sons loved the Gattaburger, and our daughter gave the Bucatini a thumbs up.. Friendly service, good food and drinks, would go to again.
