the seafood salad was so good that I've visited the restaurant second time, the grilled octopus was astonishing, the catch of the day was baked sea bream and was delicious too

We were there twice in a few days-the first visit was so good that we decided to spend there our last evening in Bari. The food is delicious! Very good quality, tasty, beautifully served-the Chef is really talented. Dishes are based on Apuglian traditional recipes with a modern twist. Their seafood salad (Scent of Sea and Orange) is unbelievable-soft calamari, shrimps and octopus in a delicious orange sauce. "Fumo de Federico" a grilled octopus is a poetry, it is melting in mouth. And Federico's citrus salmon is like a fresh sea breeze. Giovannino spaghettoni - al dente with a rich flavour sauce. Great selection of local wines. The Waiters and Waitress who served us are very professional, friendly, kind and helpful. They are well dressed. The interior is cozy, simple, but elegant-encourage you to immerse in the moment. Overall experience is really good, I can say that even better than in some of Michelin'restaurants I've visited so far. I wish I could come back there in the future.

10/10Very helpful wait staff that helped make great suggestions for entrees. Good location off of a main square, quiet yet lively in the distance. Food was excellent. We had an appi featuring different olive oils paired with the proper foods to eat them with. Had a roasted Octopus that was cut with a fork it was so tender. Great desserts and house made Amaro. Well worth a visit.

9.5/10We made the reservation when we walked past the previous night and it was very busy, when we were there it was a lot quieter which maybe changed the ambience a lot, food was very good and the service was decent, we would go back

4/10We arrived quite early for or evening meal, and for almost our entire meal we were the only diners, whilst all the nearby restaurants were nearly packed. The menu was VERY limited - which may explain the lack of popularity. We'd enjoyed our lunch here in September 2020, but this menu had little of appeal. Our starters were OK, but the main courses were a disappointment. I had fish (Branzino, I think), but it wasn't properly cooked. When I asked the waiter if it was intentionally raw in parts, he assured me that it was! (I enjoy Sushi, but NEVER have I been offered, ANYWHERE, part-cooked fish) A disappointment.

4.5/10Highly do not recommend this place. We found it on TripAdvisor and decided to make a last minute booking. Once we came in the restaurant, I realized that the reservation did not go through and we got a confirmation after we were seated. The waiter spoke very basic English and couldn’t understand any of our questions... We ordered beef cheeks, octopus and sea bass for main course. I have no idea what happened, but instead of beef cheeks we received a chicken... never even mentioned a chicken.... The food in general was mediocre. The octopus was full of olives, so you couldn’t taste anything but the olives. Chicken was not cooked well enough. The toilet is located in the middle of the restaurant, so obviously the sounds of the drier and the flush were heard during whole meal. In conclusion, the service was poor, food was average and the whole experience was just disappointing. Now I understand why La Locanda di Federico was empty when literally all other restaurants around were full of customers.

8.5/10Great atmosphere on the historical place in Bari, the Food and Quality was great, unfortunately some Food were "sold out", but this wasn't a real Problem. Nice stuff.

7.5/10Food has average taste. Portions are small. Waiters are very nice, frendly and speaks English! Prices comparing with course sizes are high. Price of drinks are mid-low! Nice wines.

3/10Average food, most of the dishes had taste with no intensity, vegetables were overcooked, fish had no seasoning. The biggest problem was the terrible service, it took more than 1 hour to get the appetizers, time between second and first plates was too long and one of our main courses never appeared in the table.

6.5/10Thr easter set menu lunch was quite good in psrts but even with quite good wine included wad overpriced at Euro 50 per person - typical taking advantage of the timing without fulfilling the expectations. At Eiuro 40 for the same I would have been happy with the quality v. price

7.5/10The restaurant is relatively quiet and comfortable. Although we had a reservation, they seemed surprised to see us and had to check their book twice fo find the reservation. Their menu is somewhat limited, but has some nice dishes -- if you leave out those with horsemeat. We had a nice bottle of inexpensive white wine from Puglia, a large antipasto for two and one secondi course each. My wife had local crawfish and I had an entrecote with shaved cheese. All in all, a pleasant meal, but nothing special.
