Everything about La MaMá was excellent! We had the Classics tasting menu and it seemed like it just went from great to even greater as each course came. I think the omelette was the best I've ever had, and we have never had cod cooked so succulently. To top off a most excellent evening of dining, the pop rocks on the dessert was an inspired piece of whimsy. The service was timed perfectly, delivered with grace, smiles and useful, but brief descriptions of each course. One of my favourite restaurants ever.

Great customer service. However, the food was below average. Most dishes were bland.. The octopus and artichoke needed a char on them to enhance the flavor. The worst part was our dessert. We ordered the cheesecake and it came out like an omelette. Literally, so overcooked that it tasted like eggs and looked like an omelette.. I don’t know how this restaurant is in the Michelin guide. The staff was attentive to detail, but the food cannot be saved by the wait staff.

Excellent traditional food to the highest standards, sensible portion size and immaculately attentive service. In a residential area but well worth the 15 min taxi drive from the Prado area. Elegant dining.

It was our first time visiting La MaMá and we had a blast! Loved the intimate vibe of the restaurant. The service was impeccable. We tried to order a little bit of everything from the regular menu - very tasty and beautiful presentation without exception. I think we truly experienced an authentic Spanish cuisine and we thank you for that. Next time in Madrid this spot is a must.

Nice interior, friendly and attentive staff, overal nice flavours

We enjoyed a superbly executed tradition-based tasting menu. The drinkable artichoke appetizer set a perfect tone, leading through seven courses that culminated with one of the most flavorful steaks (served medium and sliced) that either of us can remember. The wine pairing was delicious and affordable (opening with a volcanic Malvasia from Lanzarote). Nothing avant- garden here, but grandma’s cooking elevated to a beautiful place.

The steak was really really disappointing. Inedible. It was their top dish as well.

Food was just OK. Nothing too good, nothing too bad. If anything, a few elements were a bit below average.

Really good food at a very reasonable price and the same with the wine. In short, excellent value for the money.

+6One of the best restaurants

No research in the menu 😕, it's like a normal venue. We would have love to see the cook spirit in the meal, instead we only saw mayonnaise 😞. Also staff is not up to standard, no presentation of the meal, no care, no extra mile. But maybe we expected too much... from this Michelin recommended restaurant....

Very good food and excellent service but the place is not in the center of Madrid so be prepared to take an Uber.

My husband and I were in Madrid for a few days and had the opportunity to visit this wonderful restaurant! The service and food were outstanding. They even spoke excellent English, which was not expected, but was appreciated. Our server was wonderful in tolerating my broken, minimal Spanish. I wish I could say the same for other places in Spain. I had the Iberia pork with mashed potatoes and my husband had the duck with chutney and fennel salad. The langoustine in wonton was outstanding! The atmosphere was perfectly romantic and we hope to visit again soon.

A bit out of the way if you’re staying in central Madrid but worth the effort. Food is a somewhat creative take on traditional Spanish. Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Tenderest Iberian pork shoulder I’ve ever had in my life! The wine was splendidly paired and the service was quick and friendly. They let us try our very little Spanish out without rushing us, which was very friendly.

Although the decoration leaves a bit to be desired, the food is excellent. The service is just as excellent, too.

The restaurant has a very simple decor but it has a nice feeling and atmosphere. Food was excellent overall, perhaps a tiny bit salty for my taste. Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a nice dinner for two without fuss.

This is the restaurant with the best feel and food for the money in Madrid. Nothing but quality food and exceptional service. Small venue with a small but diverse menu; fish to meats to vegetarian you can find a dish to your liking. The service here is what sets this restaurant apart. Friendly professional and attentive without being pushy. Two people appetizers bottle of wine and desserts less than 90€. Make reservations and limit group size to 8 or less. Just a spectacular restaurant.

Best bang for your buck. Fantastic food, cozy setting, and great pricing. Like every city there are restaurants that you just look forward to eating in and this is ours. Be it the food, the staff, or in some cases the restaurant itself has the appeal that keeps one coming back. The La MaMá has all three but the staff's positive enthusiasm to be there guiding you through dinner and the quality and taste of the food absolutely make this small restaurant the place that compels one to come back. The menu is small but varied so you can easily find something you like. From the plates we've tried , it obvious the chef uses fresh ingredients and knows cooking well - it all works. The wine list is short but of 6 different tintos we've tried all have been good and all between 16- 20 euro/bottle! In summary, this restaurant is absolutely worth your time. You will eat well and leave with enough money to enjoy eating there repeatedly. La MaMá is a great place to eat.
