Excellent service - friendly and accommodating. Scallops and quenelle were outstanding, while the duck was good (a little tough). The Pavlova dessert was really good as well

We had a wonderful meal at La Mère Léa! Definitely the best meal we’ve had in France thus far. The flavors were so rich and delicious! Honestly, we’re debating whether to go back one more time before leaving. In addition, we were warmly greeted and they were so accommodating of our poor French. The ambiance is cozy but quite nice. Highly recommend!

7.5/10We did have great expectations, the food ( when it arrived) was good ( the duck filet was tender , the comté cheese flavored lentils superb), except for the totally disappointing desert ( slow cooked caramelized apple) which was almost tasteless. The service was friendly but extremely slow ( one hour between the order and the arrival of our first dishes), there must have been a party on the second floor or waiters/ cooks were absent?

10/10Charming service. Delicious food and a delightful setting. We came for the food but got a small education on Lyon and the Lyonnaise way of life as a bonus. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Go hungry and pace yourself!

10/10This restaurant is wonderful. They specialize in Lyonnaise style food but they have more current and upscale items for clientele beyond the locals. Try the salmon and avocado tartare. The sauce with mint, lemon, green onions and cucumber was off the charts. The ice cream with Chartreuse dessert was also magnificent.

6.5/10we didn’t like the ambience, we are sitting in the room total four tables, no acoustics, no view, the food was average, we served our own Wine. Prices were not so high. But I wouldn’t go to this restaurant again.

7/10We had read such great reviews, but we honestly felt we could have had a better and less expensive lunch at one of the many bouchons in Vieux Lyon. We purposely ordered Lyonnaise specialties- pâté en croute and quenelles. The food was just not very good.

4/10Disappointing experience at this Michelin Guide restaurant. I recently dined at La Mere Lea and the experience was underwhelming. The food was surprisingly mediocre - lacking creativity and flavor expected of a Micheline Guide restaurant. The courses seemed tired and uninspired, leaving much to be desired in terms of taste and presentation. The ambience was equally disappointing, with the upstairs dining area feeling bland. There was no distinct character to the space. And the service was a significant letdown. The wait staff, while nice, was inattentive and disengaged throughout the evening. We went long periods with no drink refills and no one checked to see if we needed anything. The didn't deliver part of our meal until we finally tracked someone down, who delivered it at the end as we were fed up and wanting to leave. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The mediocre food, lackluster ambience, and inadequate service made for a disappointing evening. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve, but I will not be re-visiting this given the MANY other outstanding options in Lyon.

6/10We were seated upstairs… nice view but not the nice cozy atmosphere from downstairs… very bland and bright; not cozy at all….. the steak was luke warm at best, zero seasoning and the spinach was cold. The service and the potatoes were lovely. While the desert was good, the presentation was lacking; way too big and lacking finness…. Overall dissappointing

9.5/10Thank you for the experience. Meat and food was delicious🍀just a suggestion not everyone can eat pork there could be an alternative offer at the very beginning of the evening. That is already a compliment of the restaurant and we were offered bread. So, thanks a lot.

It was recommended by a work colleague, And I can’t believe I never been before after living in Lyon for over 5 years, When you walk in it already smells so delicious, as well as receiving a warm welcoming smile from the staff and a very good service all throughout out the dinner. What to eat! ? it was difficult to chose as a first time visitor as the menu had wonderful Lyon winter dishes, I opted for the slowly cooked lamb and my friend the liver both were cooked to perfection. A wonderful culinary experience. I will definitely return soon.
