5/10Very ordinary Mexican with little spice. The speed that the food came out following the order demonstrated that it was like fast food and it tasted like it. Disappointing and thank goodness we had the 50% discount.

6/10We could see the person in the kitchen warming up food in the microwave. One of our meals was cold (rice, beans, and meat)... I guess they forgot to put that plate in the microwave. Jarritos were almost €4 each. Only 1 out of our 4 meals came with rice and beans. Good service, but we were very disappointed with the food.

9/10As an expat from Santa Fe, New Mexico and living on Mallorca, this place checked all the boxes of an authentic Mexican restaurant. Colorful decor, kinda tacky but in a good way - great margaritas - but most of all, excellent food!!! All the tastes and smells of ‘home’. I highly recommend their enchiladas, both the verde and the mole. Their guacamole is fresh and really tasty and their soups are fantastic. We ate here twice the week we spent in Madrid and will definitely be back next time we’re in town. Best Mexican I’ve had since leaving the States!!!

6/10We fancied trying one of the multiple Mexican restaurants in Madrid last week and settled upon this one, booked via The Fork. We were warmly greeted by the manager/owner (not sure which because it’s possibly a chain in Madrid) on arrival and quickly seated. The decoration felt Mexican and the ambience was good as the restaurant was nearly full. As in many restaurants now, access to the menu was via a QR code on the table and a mobile phone. Both Spanish and English versions are available, albeit, there were more options on the Spanish version? Following drinks of Mexican beer and Spanish wine, we ordered Nachos to share for a starter and Fajitas/Chipotle Chicken as mains which came with tortillas to make up your owns tacos. The food was OK - too much cheese on the Fajitas (our bad, we shouldn’t have asked for the cheesy version, the cheese made it very stodgy) and the Chipotle Chicken was served with just rice, which may be traditional but felt lacking. What spoiled our experience was that when bringing our mains, the waiter knocked over my wife’s wine in to the remainder of the nachos starter, ruining the remaining nachos and spilling wine in to the Chipotle Chicken. All he did was upright the glass and take away the spoiled nachos with no offer to rectify his mistake. Comically, there was guacamole sliding down the wine glass. I called the manager over and at first, he just tried wiping the glass until I insisted on a replacement. We let the spoiled nachos and wine splashes in the chicken slide (no pun intended) as our experience was marred by then. In summary, the ambience was good and the food acceptable with just the service letting it down. Mistakes happen, we accept, but in our case, it shouldn’t have been difficult to rectify.

Wasn't the first time I was there. But it was the first time since I came back from Mexico from a long trip there. So now my tastes are far from "Mexican adapted food" and Tex Mex kind of food. Fortunately La Mordida is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Madrid that have a pretty decent Mexican food. One suggestion about el café de olla: I was expecting a bigger jar, it looks sooo tiny (even when you get a normal portion because you put a serving jar), but it doesn't look good but it's not a critique, just a suggestion. Thank you very much!!
