8/10Reading the previous reviews help a lot to understand what to expect when eating there: they will try to charge you 2,5€ per bread unless you tell them you don’t want it, also beware that the menu does not includes the tax which will be added later at the bill. Besides these two important things, the overall experience was ok, the food was acceptable with the discount of the Fork, and the service was between average and for some moments sightly less than average, as a few examples, the waiter spilled the wine when serving it, and took very quickly the empty dishes almost without asking. By that point my family decided that they didn’t deserved any tips, when we always do.

Gracias por su respuesta, que todavia seguimos sorprendidos con lo de un lugar de turistas, cuando usted vino con 5 turistas , quizas lo no recomendado es gente como usted para tener en cuenta los restaurantes de la zona

10/10The experience was overall very positive. The food was good, both the croquettes and the paella. The employees were nice and the service was fast. It takes a bit for the paella to come, but it's worth the wait for the quality. Overall a very nice experience!

9.5/10Historical restaurant near underground stop "Opera", very well connected. The service was fast and friendly. The paella was the best I've tried in Madrid (not the best overall). Final price is a bit expensive, but really not too much considering the location. With the discount the bill is absolutely fine.

9.5/10While Madrid is not known for Paella, we wanted to partake in this traditional dish before ending our trip to Spain. One of the guides we utilized suggested this establishment, we wound up delighted! We noticed that we could order it as part of a "Menu" which included starters, a beverage and dessert. All food was presented in an outstanding manor, was well prepared and tasted very good. The Paella was perfect, not overcooked over-seasoned nor greasy. The service was also spot-on. In all, a wonderful experience on our last night in Madrid.

10/10Cozy small restaurant near Opera House. Food was fabulous but the service was outstanding! The waiter was very engaging and made excellent recommendations. But hats off to the chef for providing such a delicious paella!

6/10Good not as good as it used to be. The paella was so so and the rice was hard and lobster very small for two. The shrimp appetizer had the vain in it. Didn’t even clean the shrimp accordingly. Will never go back again when in Madrid

9/10First time I ever had paella and we picked probably the best place in Madrid for it. It came out in a huge pan complete with all sorts of shellfish. Very tasty and filling, can’t ask for much more

5/10Paella quite good, but the waiter has been very posh, pressing us and constantly telling us that we should leave soon cause they had to close at 21:30 o’clock. They also asked for us to pay 6 cents with coins because they could not let it go, evens if we paid the rest with card. As italians (who live in the most beautiful food country in the world) we do not recommend this place.

2.5/10we had a lobster paela with my wife. all the shellfish were overcooked, the mussels boiled, the rice without any interest but above all the height, the lobster was rotten! the inside of the clamps were black! the shell was soft, and the flesh stank of rotten fish! a scandal for a lobster paela. this restaurant is a scam. For the service it was the same. When we showed them the black and rotten lobster inside, we were told to go talk to the chef about it and then finally he never came. we were charged 100% for this rotten fish dish. we left furious. Absolutely avoid.

10/10The entrance is a little hidden, but once we saw the name on the awnings we figured it out. We booked early and the place was quiet until about 8:30 PM. Good attentive wait service throughout the meal. Our chicken and seafood paella was awesome and delicious. I loved the plate of olives that arrived with salad and bread. The ham croquettes were nice too. The area surrounding the restaurant was very festive with a mini Christmas market in front of the opera house. Overall, a very enjoyable evening and paella meal.

6.5/10Ordered the prawn and black rice paella. It was freshly cooked, and prepared well. However it seems like rather than prawns placed on the top of the dish like in pictures we got small shrimp in the dish. It was also too salty for my taste, but otherwise good. Service was good, and bill was correct. Note we refused the bread and olives as previous reviews stated they over charge for them.

10/10Perfect restaurant and best paella I have tried. Don’t hesitate to go there. Around 17/20€ by person and the paellas are very good ! I will totally go to this restaurant when I will come back in Madrid !

7/10The staff was welcoming but didn't speak English. Dishes presented nicely however paella was too oily and salty, could not taste the stock. Tasty olives and calamari as starter

Thank you very much for your comment with which we do not agree at all, the menu is in English and the staff defends themselves in English, something different is their aptitude for not wanting to collaborate and the paella is made with a tasty fish stock and that is not it is salty maybe you are used to those that are made with water and powder

4.5/10Good food, in a good location. However, the employee that received us was not very welcoming or nice and didn’t want to apply The Fork’s discount (we had to make a different reservation in order to get the 30% discount)

10/10My parents have visited me twice since moving to Madrid in 2015, and this was the only spot they insisted we go back to on their second trip. The paella is as good as you'll find at this price and the service is always wonderful, Friendly without being overbearing and happy to explain anything or even pose for a picture with the food (Mom insisted while I rolled my eyes). The ambience is great as well, and the location could hardly be better. It's my go-to paella place now.

6.5/10It was absolutely mediocre. They added a coffee to the bill, a coffe never ordered and never drank. No big deal, but… it says a lot. The food - acceptable, but absolutely plain.

10/10Wonderful restaurant! The food is exquisite and the service exceptional. I recommend "el menú del día" available at lunch time. It includes an appetizer, main dish (we had paella!!), a drink (we had sangria), dessert and coffee for €30 a person! We will FOR SURE RETURN. DON'T MISS IT!!
