Despite booking in advance we had to wait for a table for 15 minutes. We were seated by the toilet where the waitress did not approach us. After going to the table later the waitress came after a while and offered us water. As for the order of dishes, the appetizer was good, the main course was very strange and overcomplicated and very greasy. The worst was the waitress because as a woman I did not get cutlery for the second course and when I asked for it the waiter did not put it by me but in the middle of the table, this is not a bar but a restaurant. The waiter treated me like air and said how he is tired, I did not go to a restaurant to listen to the waiter saying he is tired.

Antipasto Calabrese was both artfully plated and composed of delicious slices of cured meats, an eggplant croquette and sundry other delicacies. The swordfish came with a delicious softly chunky sauce of onions and sweet peppers. The side dish of roasted Tropea onions was a caramelized delight. Everyone else loved their secondi too.

I being a person that struggles to speak Italian I always love a place that allows me to make a reservation online. This is an excellent restaurant. The seafood ravioli I had is probably the best dish I've ever tasted in all of Italy. The grilled tuna was very interesting and I loved it. A really wonderful Nigerian fellow works there. He's fluent in English it was helpful. If you're going to dine indoors try the back room instead of the front.

The restaurant seems to have a story. I tried the local pasta “ fileja all’arrabbiata” made with nduja spilinga that is spicy and tasty. My second dish is grilled swordfish. It is delicious too. If you come to Tropea, you could come and try.

Service ok. A dog barking at the beginning was ruining the atmosphere but then luckily that customer left. Food was hit and miss, my crunchy octopus was very good while Gamberoni alla griglia (grilled shrimps) were just ok. They brought us very good bread at the start but then they refilled it with old bread. At this price point one can have (and should have) a better experience.

The only downside was the table they had selected for us, which was near the toilet and also near a family with small ill-behaved children. They said they could not change the table but clearly they could have done.

In tropea there are hundreds of reastaurants were you can eat but we choose this place based on the trip advisor reviews and we werent disappointed. The staff here are really friendly and the food was very geniune. Prices are avarage and for a dinner for 2 inc a bottle of wine we paid 80 euro. The pescespada in crust was good and also the tuna. We booked in advance via the fork which i find very good and practical. This place is located in a very nice area of Tropea.
