We had our New Year Eve dinner at La Potence. Food excellent, and service very good. Pricey, but on New Year Eve’s every restaurant is pricey so taken that into account it was reasonable for New Years. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Strasbourg, try especially the “hanging” meat.

Food was average. Our group had the bolognaise pasta, the veg ravioli, the salmon and the beef bourguignon. Service was good and friendly

Fantastic ambience, fantastic food!!! After a full day of visiting the Christmas markets, which is highly recommended we made a reservation at La Potence and am I glad we did! The cold weather outside was quickly forgotten as we stepped inside the intimate settings of La Potence. We were lucky enough to get a table in the loft. Watching the other Christmas Market goes come in was fun! DO NOT PASS UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO EAT HERE!! Bravo La Potence! We will be back!!

We went to La Potence and ate La Potence - a delicious meat dish served on a very hot contraption, smothered in cognac that was set alight that cooked it with frites and four sauces. It was quite a display and tasted really good!

Amazing! Get the meat for 2 with the 4 dipping sauces. The spätzle is also amazing !

great restaurant with a real buzz. The food was lovely. We should have ordered the flaming steak but we were a little put off by our table being so small. The value for money was excellent. Highly recommended.

The food was really delicious. Unfortunately, the restaurant was too packed. Furthermore, the door was kept open which is why it was quite cold. However, it is a good restaurant and I definitely recommend eating there.

We needed a quick lunch on Christmas Day and found La Potence on TripAdvisor. Since it was a holiday, they were only serving a fraction of their menu - only the flambées and the Potence de Boeuf. Despite the limited offering, we were quite delighted with their food. The highlight was the beef, which they flambéed at our table. Not a morsel was left from the mushroom, goat cheese, and bacon flambées. Service was prompt, pleasant and professional.
