Warm and friendly service. The Florentine steak and the Tuscan soup was delicious!

An awful experience This is our worst experience in Italy and for a long time We had a reservation and went well Problems The food was average at best 1. We were given stale dry bread 2. Service was slow and not great 3. Our side salad did not arrive 4. They served a different meal to what we ordered. We ordered tortellini they served ravioli with a different filling 5. The server argued that the ravioli was in fact the tortellini we ordered 6. Finally conceded and reordered the correct dishes 7. Bill came with the missing salad on the bill and a cover charge 8 at checkout they took off the salad - yeah 9 they told us that the cover charge was a state tax so had to be paid , this has not been the case at any other restaurant we have been to NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Booked here based on reviews. This was the only restaurant where we felt rushed in our entire visit. The speed of service was very quick, with barely anytime to read and digest the menu. Ambience was nice, server was young (maybe inexperienced) he delivered the incorrect meals (pork instead of veal, sliced chicken instead of roasted) . Food tasted good, but overall not an authentic 'slow' Italian dinner.

Oltretutto, ci rincresce anche leggere che ci siano stati errori nei piatti. Ci confronteremo con i nostri ragazzi per capire quale possa essere stata la causa della confusione in sala. I eat here often. In fact, I lead tours and I just always recommend to my clients and every person I’ve recommended raves about it. This is not a tourist restaurant. I would say at least 80-90% of the clients are Italian, but they do have English subtitles under all the menu items and they do speak English. My favorite restaurant in Florence.

The steak was too fatty and everage. I’ve expected much more from the famously Bistecca Fiorentina

Even though our Italian and English are limited, the staff treated us with great kindness. We enjoyed a truly wonderful night on our honeymoon – thank you so much! Both the female and male staff members were absolutely lovely.

Reheated lasagne…. not worth the trip

We ate here 4 times this week and many times over the last 6 years. We have NEVER been disappointed. Food is excellent and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Booking is recommended unless you eat early like we do. Love the Veal chop and the mixed roast. Great restaurant.

This was everyone’s favorite meal of our whole trip. The server was very knowledgeable and kind. This is definitely the place to go for fantastic meat in Florence.

We shared the bruschetta and the steak. Cindy had the risotto. I had the ravioli tartufati and biscotti with vinsanto. Wonderful!

Service was slow. The options for gluten free dining were limited. It took 30 minutes to be advised that I wouldn’t be able to have the potatoes because of cross contamination: but we were still served a whole plate of potatoes and my husband also had some on his plate. The full plate went to waste. The vegetables were frankly awful! Completely overcooked and inedible. Husband had half a chicken which was tasty, but he was very ill that night, and we suspect he had food poisoning. The mushroom risotto was okay. The toasted smoked cheese and ham was literally just that! A large plate of warm cheese and ham!!! Not the best end to our holiday.

Bad service, long wait for our food! The ravioli was cold both the sauce was cold, the ham plate it wasn’t something special … the meat was ok but without garnish, the dessert it was ok not something special! And at the end we payed cash we left the money at the table with Tip even though the food was bad and because there were people and we waited how long for the waitress to come and because the next table did exactly the same we got up… and the waitress insulted us that I didn't pay in front of the crowd!! Just a mess…

Incredible! Do yourself a favor, order the steak special for 2. One of the best steaks I have ever had(and I have had a lot!). Do not miss this restaurant when in Florence…make reservations!

The foods and wine were pretty basic. The service was somehow offensively an-attentive. I had to ask to take my order even I was the second customer at that time. After that, pretty scarce attention. There was a crushed mosquito on the wall, and a household fly was flying all the way even in March. I hope it is the basic in Firenze, otherwise this place’s evaluation is a bit high.

We were five people and had dinner in this restaurant. We found it very welcoming, the staff friendly and very helpful, the food great. We ordered the fillet of cerne, which was tender and very flavorful.

Excellent restaurant specialising in grilled meats - the pork and chicken were excellent, although I reckon most folks will come for steak. Nice authentic with dessert wine and biscotti.

It is a very nice spot with good prices and pleasant and efficient service. The good is very good but especially a nice break from many restaurants with a lot of focus on variety of proteins offered via grills and also roasting.

We have visited Florence fir 7 years and always visit La Spada. The staff are excellent and the Florentine steak is to die for.. would definitely recommend if you want excellent service and fantastic food!

This established restaurant is made up of several small rooms on different levels up or down a few steps. The centerpiece is their rotisserie which has many different meats cooking and they specialize in beefsteak. It is cooked rare and cool in the middle, Florentine style, so buyer beware. The antipasti, primi and secondi are all extremely good. Service is pleasant, engaging and very wanting to please the guests. Close to Piazza dells Republica, about four blocks.
