9/10A very pleasant small restaurant with nice food a little bit away from the crowds in Barcelona, but still easy to reach. Excellent waitors who take their time to explain the menu and the wine list and who are very attentive and helpful in general.

2.5/10La Tata is a deceptive place, tricking people into thinking it’s high-end by its presentation of the restaurant and attempting to do the same with the food. In actual fact, much of the food is microwaved, and the waiters seem to dart between taking orders and preparing orders themselves with no concern for hygiene in between. The prices are also deceptive: paper menus in the restaurant have much lower prices (“€30” dishes shown online go down to €12 on paper menus). Anyone who books through TheFork will be given the scam menu on a digital tablet rather than a paper menu. The scam prices do not reflect the microwave quality of food served. What am awful way to do business; we’ve been highly put off coming back to Barcelona because of experiences like the one we had at La Tata.

8/10The amuse bouche and starters were fantastic, very clever trick of serving some scrumptious Kalamata olives hanging in a bonsai olive tree and vermouth shots. The mains were really good but not outstanding. For instance my fillet steak was a good size and super quality but, and call me picky, it hadn’t been seasoned enough (although the salt they brought when asked was top grade) and the plate was stone cold. As I’d ordered “al punt” which is rare (not “blue“), half way through eating the steak it was cold. Some other feedback was the waiters were all great but their shirts needed a clean. Without the Fork discount it would have been a bit too expensive but super value with the discount. Others had turbot and sea bass which were good but again not amazing. Puddings were delicious and clearly home made.

10/10This was a great surprise we never would have found without The Fork. It was the best meal we had in Barcelona during our 6 days there. And Jordi, our waiter, was one of the most excellent waiters we've ever encountered. We REALLY wanted to go back another time before we left, but we just couldn't squeeze it in. However, we may just have to plan another visit to Barcelona just so we can eat at La Tata again. All the food was simply amazing. And we'll definitely ask for Jordi.

9.5/10We came here with guests on a Sunday evening in October, when the city was quite quiet. We were a bit late but were very warmly welcomed by all the staff, whose service throughout was excellent and friendly. The menus are on an iPad but this worked well. Our two guests had dietary restrictions but there was plenty on the menu to cater for these. We had fish carpaccio to start with, very good, and followed this with a mix, cod cheek (substantial and very nicely cooked), melosos de cabrit, first class and very rich, and a good salmon fillet. None of us had room for dessert, sadly. The wine list consisted mostly of Catalan wines but was very reasonably priced -- as indeed was our whole dinner, since we had an outstanding deal from The Fork which offered us 50% off. Recommended.

10/10I read other review about the expensive prices on the menu. Yes, I would recommend making reservations through the Folk for the 50% discount. However, a table near ours were told that the prices were 50% off no reservations needed. Beyond that, this meal was by far the highest quality and best tasting in Barcelona. The services is 5 star services -- attentive, pro-active and gently pushing better suggestions. Please order the pulpo a la gallega -- beyond tender and flavorful. I do not know how the chef made it so tender. We ended the night with cheesecake which was airy and not dense (no crust). I would definitely have another dinner here. With 2 starters, 2 meats, a glass of wine, 1 dessert and 2 espresso, the meal was under 123 euros.

5/10I ordered the veal in red wine and plum sauce and it was not very tasty and too expensive. There were also various aesthetic qualities of the restarting that made me cringe, such as the seating which had view of a messy half kitchen in the back and a poor paint job and decoration.

10/10We stayed in Barcelona for one night and I booked La Tata based on the Fork suggestion. The service was great, there were quite many staff members present in the hall, always ready to assist. Service was very fast, including the cooking time, so I was positively surprised. There were very few people in the restaurant so we had impression of very dedicated attention. Quality of food was excellent: both taste and serving. The price is clearly above average, but overall impression worth it.

6/10Mixed opinion about this restaurant. Very nice, comfortable interior, staff attentive. Our starters order was taken while we were deciding on the wine, but nobody took our order for main course, so when we’d finished the starters (tortilla vaga/canelones de pato – both excellent), we were presented with the dessert trolley. It wasn’t a problem – we wanted a relaxed lunch, and our waiter dealt with it very professionally, but it shouldn’t have happened. I ordered the “solomillo ibérico Wellington al estilo inglés” for my main – one of my favourite dishes. However ‘estilo inglés’ needs to be removed from the description and replaced with ‘estilo Tata’. A good Beef Wellington should be red/pink in the middle, coated in duxelles and wrapped in a crisp puff pastry. I was presented with a very small over-cooked piece of fillet wrapped in I don’t know what kind of pastry and drowned in a sauce I couldn’t recognise, although it had notes of powdered mustard, and this, of course, made whatever pastry it was soggy. It was edible, but it was definitely not a Beef Wellington. My friend had the calamares for main, and she was happy with her choice. Dessert – cheesecake for me – was nice, but nothing special. We got the 50% discount via El Tenedor, but even with this I found this restaurant to be overpriced and don’t think our meal was worth what we paid.

8.5/10The staffs are amazing and very friendly. Small restaurant but nice ambience, they serve you with olive and croquettes as amuse bouche as well as vermouth which is very thoughtful. For the starter we ordered lobster cannelloni, tuna tartare and duck confit cannelloni with foie gras, all are very tasty, we tried salmon for the main but it’s a bit over cooked and dry. But the sweet kid and veal was amazingly delicious, their tarte tatin is also a must try!
