9.5/10Excellent and very abundant portion of the ever green specialty of this restaurant: penne Siciliana. Delicious and very affordable. Don't forget to ask for the chilli flavoured oil. bon appetit.

5/10Food was very nice however staff were really poor. Glum faced, forgetful, had a chip on shoulder and would stand around talking (shouting) between each other whilst tables were needing serviced. Would not recommended if service is important to you.

9.5/10Antonio and his team of argentines, venezuelans and portuguese are great. Food is pergect gor a trattoria. Service is incredibly friendly, charming and fun. Antonio ocasionally even sits at our table. It is informal and family oriented. Pizza, pasta and all is good quality and generous portions

7.5/10We have been to this restaurant on previous trips to Geneva and like to support small restaurants rather than the large chains. Although the food was very good, the service was not as good as we remembered. We were in the far corner and seemed to have been forgotten. There were two others ladies who were also at this end that were totally ignored until my husband pointed them out to the waiter

8/10Trattoria we used to go a lot when we where younger and then not so much as we moved out of Geneva. We came back today with friends after many years and I took the same good penne a la siciliana I used to have and nothing has changed. The boss is still friendly and welcoming and food is generous and good. Happy to see that old places like this one have been able to resist stormy times.

8.5/10Penne alla siciliana. 25 CHF. Oh my god - it is the most wonderful, simple trattoria in Geneva. The staff are a little bored of serving the same thing for a generation, but for all the rest of use enjoying it for a generation, long may it continue.

8.5/10Looking about for just a solid place to get dinner in the middle of a work trip and weekend vacation in Geneva and La Trattoria was exactly what we needed. Walking distance from the business district across the lake from Old Town (and easy walk from train station). Generous portions made it a great value and the delicious food made it a great dinner. Good wine selection, large menu, and attentive (if a little grumpy) staff... The appetizers were large enough to be a meal on their own (fresh salad was very fresh and the "focaccia" was the size of a pizza). My wife's pasta was delicious as was my entrecote in mushroom sauce (I ordered a tomato based sauce, but was happy with the substitution honestly). And the dessert was fantastic - chocolate shell around gelato melted with flambé orange liqueur making for a wonderful orange/chocolate sauce. Highly recommended!

10/10Always nice at La Trattoria. Try the Penne a l'Arrabiata. Deliciously spicy! We were on the terrace... a bit noisy, because traffic, but still very pleasant!

10/10Another great dinner at La Trattoria. The aubergine pasta is incredible and lasagna also is excellent. The service was great - we were in / out in just under an hour, which is rare for nice sit-down anywhere in Europe. We were on the early side of dinner so I’m sure that helped. Highly recommend!

8.5/10This was my fourth time at the restaurant and I can say I've consistently had a great experience. Every dish we tried was delicious (although nothing beats the Penne alla Siciliana and the Prosciutto di Parma pizza).

8/10A simple traditional Italian (of Geneva) restaurant - big portions, good pasta and pizza, interesting desserts (such as the Affogato Trattoria - coconut ice-cream with ltalian liqueur; while Baba al limoncello was a bit too dry). Recommended - additionally, location is central (behind the train station) and it is open on Sunday!

6/10Pasta was good, pizza regular, deserts disappointing. It's surprising that nowadays, restaurants still try to cover regular deserts with crappy sirop making a regular dish worse. Too noisy.

2/10Bruschetta was a pizza base topped with tomatoes, the tortellini was generic shop bought and served in a bland stock. About 5 mouthfuls in to the starters the staff started circling and when we were just over half way through starters the mains were unceremoniously dumped on the table next to ours and the table was butted up to yours. We opted for the entrecôte steak with porcini mushrooms... only the mushrooms were watery and tasted very-unporcini like the steak was white: looked like veal, tasted like veal, when asked if it was veal we were told it wasn’t. We look it home and asked a further 4 people who all said it was neither entrecôte nor porcini but indeed probably veal. My pasta with the steak was bland and unseasoned. That said, the pizzas looked good and most people in there came in for pizza so maybe thats what you should try.
