I made a reservation well in advance for a group of 10 to celebrate a 70th birthday, and I confirmed it as requested. However, when we arrived, we were informed that we would only have the table for 1.5 hours due to another party booking afterward. Despite noting in the reservation that this was a special celebration, we felt rushed throughout the entire meal. While the food itself was fine, the overall experience was disappointing. We didn’t feel welcomed or valued as guests, which is especially surprising in Italy, where hospitality is usually exceptional. Because of the rushed atmosphere, we decided to leave after the main course and went elsewhere for dessert and after-dinner drinks. Unfortunately, it left us with a very underwhelming memory of what should have been a special evening.

This is the smaller of the two restaurants and perhaps the other one further up the road would have better ambience as the seats were quite close to each other. It was also quite dark and hot inside (air conditioning wasn’t switched on). The food was delicious and service was fast. I saw the others’ comments about the restaurant not knowing about the Fork discount, so I decided to ask about it when I arrived - the waiter said he had to check but then did say yes we’d get it. He didn’t seem particularly pleased though. The other staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

Mixed Experience at La Vineria We visited La Vineria di Montepulciano—though be aware, there are two locations. We ended up at the smaller one near the entrance to the old town, not realizing there’s a larger, livelier spot further down. The atmosphere at the second seemed much more inviting. We ordered the Pici with beef ragù and Tagliatelle with mushroom and truffle. Both dishes were tasty, though portions were on the smaller side. The truffle pasta could’ve used a touch more seasoning, but overall the food was solid. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a booking issue. We reserved via TheFork, but the waiter didn’t register our arrival, this triggered a no-show email and meant we didn’t initially receive the 20% discount from the app. We had to ask for it explicitly, which felt awkward and detracted from the evening. Given the pricing and the hiccup with the reservation, I’m not sure I’d return. If you do go, I’d recommend confirming your booking and opt for the bigger one

This restaurant is too small to handle a part of 11 people. It’s very cramped for a small group. The service was chaotic with second course not delivered for two guests.

The special meat and cheese plate for 1 was more than enough for two of us. And it was outstanding. The waiter was very nice and warned us about ordering too much. The restaurant is very small with limited seating - make a reservation!

The staff was amazing and very attentive. The food was amazing too. So much so, that we left with not only having eaten lunch but having bought some of their amazing jams to bring home. Big thanks to Brigel, Jonathan (and I think Giacomo?).
