We were greeted by an army of personnel but after having our starter and main plates ordered, we never saw our waiter again. We sat with dirty dishes, empty water & wine glasses in front of us for a good 20 minutes before the wine stewart took pity on us, took them away and gave us dessert menus. Ignored once more, I waved to him and he sent over the serving girl who was obviously uncomfortable. We asked for the cheque, and for the first time in my life, I didn’t tip at all. Shockingly bad service for a fine dining establishment. A pity as food was nice and ambiance very pleasant. Will not go back ever again.

I had a very enjoyable dining experience at this restaurant. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was friendly and professional. One standout for me was the side dish of vegetables — perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, they elevated the meal in a surprisingly memorable way. While the staff was attentive and courteous, one minor critique would be that they all seemed a bit hurried, even though it was early in the evening and the restaurant was nearly empty. It felt intentional rather than rushed due to pressure, but it slightly took away from the otherwise relaxed ambiance. The quality of the food was solid — fresh ingredients and skillful preparation. That said, the menu tends to stick to well-known variations rather than offering particularly inventive twists. Still, considering the quality and overall experience, the value was excellent. I’d gladly return and recommend it to others looking for a satisfying meal.

Although you obviously also pay for the location and the atmosphere, I would highly recommend this place

Great menu at a reasonable price. Top notch quality as one expects at La Chambard. Surprised at the service though, not very responsive this time.

We had delicious Alsatian dishes, including onion tart, a smoked trout starter, fish quenelle and venison shank. The 35 Euro menu was a great value. All dishes were beautifully prepared and presented. Wines by the glass were interesting, very good and very reasonably priced.

Exceptional food with a wide range of « specials » on the board as well as the printed menu and a very reasonable set menu of 3 courses, showcasing local dishes, for 37 Euros. Prices include bread and an amuse bouche. Traditional Winstub decor provides a relaxed atmosphere but the quality of food, wine and service is well above many gourmet restaurants. Everything was delicious. Leave plenty of time to enjoy your meal. It is worth it. Be aware that « tartes », savoury or sweet, are substantial!

while our dinners here were both excellent, it is the breakfasts which were simply stellar! one could not imagine a lovelier and more varied (and daily changing) selection, presented so invitingly that all resolve to remain moderate melted!

Excellent experience dining at Winstub Chambard. Calf’s head and veal were both excellent, as were the escargot. Wine suggestion was excellent. Would visit again.

Everything at Le Winstub de Chambard was excellent, from the delicious food (onion tart, trout, and choucroute) to the impeccable service. I definitely recommend you book a table to enjoy a nice meal while in the adorable town of Kaysersberg.

We were 10 and did not book. They gave us a time to vome back as the restaurant was full. We came back on time and they had organised all they could for a table to accomodate such a group. Food was eccellent and the owner was very friendly (we had a log chat at the table). They offered coffee and schnaps, because we were friendly and apreciated them finding a way to accomodate us. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Recommended.

We waited one hour for eating while the rest of people finished (even thought those who arrived later than us) I don’t know if it was because we were probably the only foreign people but it was very disappointed for us.

For a restaurant with such high ratings, a dead fly frozen into my sorbet is unacceptable. Our server quickly replaced the sorbet, but no apology was offered. The rest of my meal was very good. My son’s salmon was over cooked. And my partner could not eat his meal. Disappointing experience overall...

food was very nice, portions very generous, good quality products used. The service was attentive and very friendly. Fluent in French, English and German. Can highly recommend for a good quality, traditional Alsace cuisine.

I went there with my girlfriend for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. The reception of the restaurant is shared with the 5-star hotel and greets you with an upscale atmosphere. The restaurant, however, is more relaxed. Most people wore casual clothing and some couples had their children with them. The restaurant was everything we hoped for and the staff spoke some English and German (in addition to French of course), which helped us to get by with our limited French a few times. The wine, entree, main course, and dessert were all very tasty, nicely put-together, and were served after an appropriate time after we put in our orders.
