7/10A little disappointed this evening at the Jazz at the Berne set menu. We eat at this Bistro around 12-15 times a year and it has always been superb food, service and beautiful setting. However tonight there were too many covers or too few staff, we waited over 40 minutes for any service and had to ask several times for water before we received any. We rushed to finish our dessert as we would have missed the start of the music. Hopefully next year they will either take less bookings or employ more staff!!

The terras of the Bistro is fully renovated (almost completely done) and is very spatious and still also cosy. The only action that needs attention is the access for wheelchairs. The parking for disabled used to be at the same level as the bistro. Now no clear signs/spots are reserved close to the Bistro for disabled people. The spots close to the bistro are reserved for the pick-up of the shop, but NO spots/signs reserved for disabled people, so it was fully occupied ... the parking lot is very far.

8/10Excellent food, nice place, excellent vin. But the service was very poor. We had to ask 4 times to ice cubes, explain her that we would like to have the ordered vin together with food and not long after! Twice!

5.5/10Idyllic venue, manicured vineyard and great getaway location. Wine boutique always interesting and I was already a fan of Chateau de Berne Rosé before going. Surprised that the bottle we ordered to accompany lunch was not more appropriately chilled. Lunch with good friends from Cannes who, like my wife and I, travel worldwide and have a broad knowledge of restaurant quality. We selected the 3-dish Menu. The hors-d’œuvres were well presented but, unfortunately underwhelming. The melon gazpacho was blah and the chèvre in the chèvre salad was fried to barely hide the fact that it was not very good before it was friend. We are in the heart of Provence. The chèvre should have been fresh and superbe. All 4 of us chose the Bar for entré. Présentation so-so. And a unanimous verdict from all 4 of us - overcooked. We brought this to the attention of our server, who neither seemed to care nor escalated our complaint. Deserts were OK, nothing more. Not expensive considering the surroundings, but nevertheless not worth it from a dining experience viewpoint. Really disappointed actually.

6/10We love this place for lunch but it was not great at dinner (we had a table inside). Goopy sauce on fish, poorly topped pizza, waiter smashed 3 glasses (3 separate incidents) and took a long time to clear up. We will be back with fingers crossed because lunches on the terrace have been wonderful. To keep us they need to work on evening quality!

7.5/10I ordered the daily special which, as a main course, had Iberic pork tenderloin. It was so tough that I had to saw at it with my knife and fork. I overheard the waiter tell the table next to us that the chef was not even in the kitchen. When the waiter asked how the meal was, I politely told him. He took the plate away and made no further mention of the food. This is a shame because I had been to this restaurant before and had enjoyed a delicious meal. Today’s lunch was an embarrassment to the restaurant.

8.5/10A very rural location but well-worth the drive to get there. The Bistro menu was interesting and the dishes we selected were all good, two of them excellent. The staff were quick and very helpful. We felt we had a really enjoyable lunch at a very reasonable price.

7/10Very good food, but one of the waiters tilted my wife’s wineglass and spoiled her dress and bag. He did excuse him self, but we would have expected him to at least offer her a new glass of wine, but he didn’t. This is the kind of thing that spoiled the whole experience in a restaurant which by any means is superb.

10/10I have had lunch and dinner many times at the Bistrot De Berne and it is always, very good, great service, good wines and a fantastic menu. Also manager Philippe is very hosputable and friendly..Good times!

8/10Very helpful when we phoned to apologise for being late after google maps led us astray. Excellent food and friendly and cheerful service. Obviously strong symbiotic relationship with the chateau wine shop
