5/10We had a very good meal previously but sadly this visit had some issues. It was a set menu with two choices per course. We all ordered the same main but were told there was only one option left the same with the desert and the crumble was cold. . Service was poor not the fault of the staff who worked hard just not enough of them, all in all quite poor

6.5/10Ongoing problem with bringing a disabled friend as no parking at the venue. Access to drop our friend off, as arranged beforehand was, tolerated in an unfriendly manner by clients and staff at a café we had to pass to get to Lou Calen, despite our explanation and showing the disability pass. Friendly service; dishes not sufficiently labelled or hard to read on a small blackboard. Clients need to be identified to staff on duty as a person was witnessed picking up dessert items - carrot & orange cake slice among them - sniffing and then returning it to the serving plate, changing her mind and dropping this, and other similarly unmessy items, directly into her capacious, open handbag before making a swift exit.

6.5/10Disappointing meal. The ambiance is gorgeous. The staff are super friendly ..But the kitchen needs much improvement. Limited and not very exciting choice on the lunch menu. 3 starters 3 main. Too much rice as the main dishes. accompaniment . Almost no veg or salad garnish. The food lacked flavour and the fish dish could have at least included a wedge of lemon or lime. Such a pity as the owner has created a superb stylish hotel complex full of fantasy with great details . Its a shame about the Bistro .

5.5/10It is personal but there was nothing in the menu I wanted to eat.I was a great fan of your restaurant some months ago . I certainly will give your restaurant a second chance because I like the place in terms of decor etc.

7.5/10The food can definitely be better. It's ok, but it's not a WOW factor here. The people working there are really very nice - good service, so that is great. But talk to the chef... he can very well improve a little bit....

8/10The food was very good - the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were simple but interesting. The only downside was that the service was, at times, a little slow so the food was only lukewarm when it arrived on the table. The restaurant hasn’t been open that long though and I’m sure once the team beds in, the service will be more efficient. All in all I’d say that it’s a wonderful addition to the restaurant scene in Cotignac and I’ll look forward to a return visit.
