I don't normally write reviews of restaurants, but Le Buisson Ardent demands an exception. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a beloved regular patron of a classic Parisian restaurant from your very first visit? This is the experience Nicolas, Arnaud, and the entire team at Le Buisson Ardent offer to every guest. Charming & swift service, wonderful traditional French food (some dishes with a touch of Spanish flair), excellent wines and cocktails, and the comfortable atmosphere of a true Parisian classic. If I lived in Paris, Le Buisson Ardent would be my second home. Until then, I look forward to my next visit to this showstopper of a restaurant!

3/10The worst of the worst. A 'risotto' that seemed to be overcooked rice drenched with cream with some lacklustre veggies strewn on top. Steak was served cold and tasted mostly of water but with a sinister sub-flavour of decay. We ate about 10% of both dishes, then complained, and were given a small reduction in the bill. These guys are preying on tourists, serving food that an eight-year-old would be ashamed of. Avoid.

10/10Manager was wonderful! We had just had our home in Florida hit by a massive hurricane and lost 3 cars and flooded our home. He heard this and brought us complimentary Kir Royales! Not necessary but certainly most welcome! Food was great especially the escargot, grilled octopus and lamb shank.

4.5/10The food was poor I had a small rump steak which was tough and my partner had fish which had been deep fried and overcooked. The service was good. Afraid it’s all about the poor food.

From the moment we walked into this fabulous bistro we were welcomed like family. We made instant friends with our waiter Julian . He made our last evening in Paris the most memorable of our six days here . The food was inventive and delicious. Please, please do not miss this experience while in Paris !

10/10We picked this restaurant based on reviews and close location to our hotel. What a find. The service was super friendly thankfully there English was better than my French. The place and atmosphere were brilliant. The food was truly amazing. During our stay in Paris we went to higher end restaurants that were more expensive but the food here was on par if not slightly better. Will definitely return on a future trip to Paris.

10/10What a lovely hidden gem near the Sorbonne. Food was excellent, portions were perfect. Wine list was extensive and fairly priced. We are a group of Americans visiting from Philadelphia, and the wait staff was friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent.

10/10Le Buisson Ardent is a collection of contradictions: it is relaxed and welcoming, but beautifully decorated and elegant in atmosphere; it serves "comfort food" and traditional dishes, but they are of the topmost quality in preparation and presentation; the service is excellent and attentive, but it is never rushed or obtrusive. The wine list had a good selection at a number of price points. I will return every time I'm in Paris.

10/10Very friendly and welcoming maitre d and waiting staff. Excellent food with fresh produce. Been coming here for 20 years every time we visit paris. Nice to see outside eating area added too. We recommend.

We had a wonderful dinner with very good service. The food was beautiful and delicious. The owner was so gracious and it was a lovely evening. Clientele was local with no other tourists. Highly recommend.

2.5/10Le buissant ardent has changed its focus. It is now a happy hour which also serves food. We had eaten there many times in the past few years and expected a restaurant experience. There were about 10 diners inside and from what I could see a table or two outside where dinner was being served. The rest of the terrace was a happy hour with a very , very large group of mainly young people., which is expected for a happy hour venue. The food we ate was not good, including the moelleux which we ordered for dessert, which was not a moelleux with a soft center, but just a piece of dry and grainy chocolate cake. Our problem is that the restaurant was misrepresented in the la fourchette description.. if we had known that the restaurant was not as we remembered, we would have made another selection. Also, the check did not include the 20 per cent discount. This error was corrected, but considering what we ate we feel that the menu is overpriced.

This restaurant has been my home away from home for my first week in Paris. The staff are welcoming, the ambience is classy and relaxing, and the food is amazing. My wife and I are planning a trip back to Paris just so I can take her to this restaurant.

10/10Wonderful old world environment. Young animated joyful staff. We had dinner on 7/5/22 the young woman was an absolute delight and great waitress- I waited tables thru 5 years of college recognize great skills when I see them. I have several food allergies and preference constraints honored. Our meals where delicious large portions very good price. This establishment was recommended by our Airbnb host who lives in neighborhood, I would be a regular if I lived here!

4/10Our main course of Faux filet was appalling. It was tough and full of grizzle. Several other diners (8 to be specific) felt the same. The manager apologised and offered us a coffee. We definitely would not recommend it to anyone else. Very disappointing.

2.5/10We have eaten at this restaurant four times over eight years, and we have always been very pleased with the food and the ambience.… This time was completely different… The menu was small and on Saturday night had very few options, and the quality of the cooking was much worse than previously.… In addition the staff was not pleasant, perhaps because there were not enough waiters for the whole restaurant. We are very disappointed, because we always really enjoyed this restaurant and found it to be good value for our euros.

10/10We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a varied selection of very good dishes. The fish was particularly good and the duck too. Excellent vegetables. The staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We have visited occasionally over many years and have always enjoyed Le Buisson Ardent.
