What an incredible find! I had stupidly booked the wrong night elsewhere and we found Le Comptoir late. A charming location in the delightful Sanary-sur-Mer but the food! My goodness! It was exquisite, imaginative and expertly presented. Flavours were ideally balanced and the poisson du moment was a triumph. The menu is tight and well-constructed and I can only imagine that you can't get a table in August. We sat outside in the pretty square and were expertly served by the most fabulous young people. Special mention of the young man and young woman who served us: both were engaging, amusing, expert and encouraged us to speak French in a non-patronising way. The chef is a genius. Go!
