4.5/10The ambience and style of the building is great and when we arrived I had expectations of good, traditional french cuisine. Unfortunately the food was poor and it was as if it was heated up rather than made fresh. I had a fish terrin starter, which was dull and flavourless. I had a basic steak for my main, which was covered in source and its quality dubious. After arrival we weren't offered a drink and waited(without a drink) 20 minutes before I had to call over the aiter, who had only one other table to worry about to take our order. It was a Monday evening and the place was almost empty and I suspect the quality and service is probably much better on a busier night. If they aren't prepared to deliver good food however on quiet nights they might be better to stay closed until the busier nights. We still had a good evening with friends in what should be an excellent place to eat.

7.5/10This has been a favourite restaurant of mine for many years. The ambiance is great - as is the food. Last week I visited with a group of clients. Food was as good as always. The ambiance also - but, what detracted from this was the service. For the number of diners, the restaurant was badly understaffed. Service was poor. It was rushed, confused, random and did not do justice to the quality. I do hope that something will be done to correct this.

7.5/10The menu was hardly readable. It was not clear which plates included Fork's discount and which did not. Although we booked discount we were mislead and we paid normal prices at the end.

2/10A terribly old fashioned restaurant. The service was ok but the food was terrible. Poor cuts or meat and dreadful sauces. Also very dirty cutlery and restaurant. If you come from a major city like London or New York you won’t enjoy this one. The owners seem nice but they need to clean up the whole restaurant as it’s pretty disgusting

8.5/10Really enjoyed eating here. The ambience and decor is great in a wonderful building. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was good -- tasty with a small but well-thought out selection of starters and main courses and well prepared vegetables. Very good cheese selection and good wine list. The place isn't a tourist trap and has its own style which would make us return.

10/10Absolutely incredible! Quaint place and my husband and I agreed it may be the best meal we’ve ever had. He had the pork tenderloin with garlic and I had the steak with raw scallops. Wish we lived in Paris to make it a regular spot for us, but I know that we will go out of our way to return as soon as we can! 100% recommend!

10/10We have been dining at Le Connétable since the 1990s. It's very very old and atmospheric. On this trip we had the 29euro menu the food and service was excellent.

10/10Come to Paris for genuine French food with come nice twists - duck with figs for example -in restaurant with real atmosphere and interior style. Tables well separated . Nobody shouting to get heard by their companions. Very good value too with well priced wine selection- not too long as to confuse. It’s on our come back list.

10/10A charming restaurant with lots of ambience. The service was right on, at the right pace. We had the scallops st. Jacque, for the starter. It was great to share and delicious. I had a filet of duck in a cream sauce that the waiter recommended. My husband had filet of pork in a Roquefort sauce, that not a morsel was left. Wonderful!

7.5/10We have been several times now. This last visit was a bit disappointing. Last time the food was better the service brisker and more efficient. It is still a lovely atmospheric building it just seemed a bit tired. The food was all a bit too creamy. Everything seemed to come with a very creamy sauce and we were just overwhelmed.

9.5/10We had a lovely meal at this restaurant. 3 adults and 2 children and we had the 3 courses for 29 euros. The staff were lovely and the food felt home cooked and worth the money. Very homely restaurant vibe.

10/10A very cosy place with extremely good traditional French food! Delicious was not just the food, but also the place with this antique wooden ceiling and super nice waiter who helped us with the wine choice. Extremely recommended!

8.5/10We reserved for 19.00 as we were coming from a Happy Hour in the neighborhood. The place was empty, after talking to a waiter, he told us to choose any table (great) and the server would be with us. She was charming and very helpful. The food was served quickly and was nicely presented. We both had the terrine de poisson which was good. Then, I had filet mignon de porc with a roquefort sauce, delicious! My friend had a salmon filet which he highly enjoyed. Both were served with an assortment of four side dishes, very nice. The restaurant itself is quite pretty; beamed ceiling, bare stone walls, candles,... Extremely Parisian, in the good sense of the term. Nothing "high-falluting", just good French food in a very pleasant setting served by charming people.

10/10I have been eating here for probably 20 years whenever I come to Paris. The building has an interesting history. The fixed price menu is a real bargain. And the food is delicious.

6/10Disappointing starters but main courses were good. Had to ask for discount to be applied and then ask for yums promo to be applied (and explain what it was). Would be expensive without promos.

8.5/10Normally portions are bigger as I come to the restaurant pretty often. This time we had the 30% discount with The Fork and consequently the portions were reduced.

9.5/10We (Brits living in France) went with our Canadian friends and we were all most impressed with the welcome, the quality of the dinner and the ambiance upstairs in this ancient building . A lovely evening!
