10/10Trust this man ! He served us a just wonderful meal, surprising us each time. (He asks you before the meal if there is anything you don’t want, don’t worry.). We live in London and know good restaurants—this was an amazing meal. Book now and you will thank me.

9/10Lovely atmosphere as we sat outside in a walled garden on a beautiful summer evening. Nigel (proprieter) suggested a 4 course surprise menu which was very good. The food was elegant and flavoursome and the Rioja wine complemented the food.

10/10Loved the concept of being surprised. Despite having younger children in the party, this was no problem. The food and paired wines were great and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I definitely recommend Le Courage, but remember to make reservations in advance, as there are a limited amount of tables available, which adds to the cozy character of the experience!!

10/10It is just so lovely to eat here. There are many nice places to eat in Maastricht but Le Courage has been our favorite for over 10 years. Absolutely amazing tastes and especially good for vegetarians and vegans as well. Their plant based alternative dishes are really just as good (and sometimes even better) compared to the standard menu.

10/10I reserved this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday during a trip to Maastricht. It’s a lovely little restaurant, very cosy, in Van Wyck, so right in the city centre. We were welcomed by the owner who had doubled checked our reservation with me by message in the morning and had taken note of our request for a vegetarian menu for my daughter. The restaurant does a set course meal and you can choose between 4 and 7 courses. The first two courses were fish, both served in a delicious sauce. The last two were meat, also delicious and sophisticated. The desert was a kind of lemon pudding. Very good as well. The courses arrived slow and steadily, which was actually nice because it allowed us to enjoy our food and talk without being rushed. The owner served us most of the time, and was attentive and warm and friendly. We also had a delicious Sancerre wine. We had a lovely evening, and I thought that the price per person was extremely reasonable. I’ve eaten at Michelin star restaurants that were much more expensive and not remotely as refined. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for making our evening so special.

9/10A very good meal and an excellent menu (we take the 4 courses menu). The only remark that we have (apparently is the way of working of the house) is that the service is slow (very) with the purpose of having a relaxing experience. We were not aware of that and having almost 30 minutes of break (except for the dessert) between the courses is something that has created some stress in our group. But at the end having all together we were happy and satisfied with the experience. A nice place to visit (but be patient)!

10/10This restaurant is an hidden gem. Every course of the Surprise Menu was a delight, service was excellent and the chef explained every dish. Not much more we can say except that we can't wait to go back again.

10/10We were greeted by the owner. We took the whole 7 courses with wine pairing and it was amazing. They have done their homework to create these amazing dishes and the selection of wines didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend this restaurant and do not hesitate to go for the 7 courses with wine.

7.5/10I felt the evening was slightly tainted due to an altercation at the beginning regarding confusion around the meal. It felt like we were being strong-armed into staying for a drink by the waiter (who we could see was becoming irate) this made both of us uncomfortable and definitely made the experience of the food tainted. I would not come baxk

10/10The food was absolutely fantastic. The concept of letting the chef surprise you is exicitng and bold, and the flavors match this. I got the 5 course dinner with a wine pairing and wish I had gotten 7 courses! Everything about the experience is amazing.

10/10Worth the trip to Maastricht! We discovered Le Courage during a short holiday there last March. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there on two consecutive nights. Although Le Courage now has a new chef, its same high standard continues.
