This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is fabulous and the service is always very personal. Can highly recommend.

Quirky restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. No menu; choose 4 - 7 courses and be surprised by the chef. As we chose 4 courses and each course seemed to be served at the same time, there did seem to be quite a long pause between our courses. An interesting concept which worked well for our small group. A very good restaurant, a little off the beaten track which is a positive thing when Maastricht is busy.

Dishes served were good but really tiny. There is no menu, we had to order at least the 4-course menu where all is a surprise! No cocktails, only wine list or local artisanal bear. Unfortunately service is pretty slow and it's like all guests in the restaurant are expected to eat starters, main dishes and deserts at the same time. Would recommend that restaurant if all matters is what you eat and you don't mind spending 3 hours at the table. If you're also looking for a nice space, service and all, I'd advise you to look for something else.

Trust this man ! He served us a just wonderful meal, surprising us each time. (He asks you before the meal if there is anything you don’t want, don’t worry.). We live in London and know good restaurants—this was an amazing meal. Book now and you will thank me.

Lovely atmosphere as we sat outside in a walled garden on a beautiful summer evening. Nigel (proprieter) suggested a 4 course surprise menu which was very good. The food was elegant and flavoursome and the Rioja wine complemented the food.

Small and beautiful restaurant with service and quality of food and beverage perfect. It was for us a wonderful night! I definitely recommend the experience of 6 courses!

Loved the concept of being surprised. Despite having younger children in the party, this was no problem. The food and paired wines were great and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I definitely recommend Le Courage, but remember to make reservations in advance, as there are a limited amount of tables available, which adds to the cozy character of the experience!!

It is just so lovely to eat here. There are many nice places to eat in Maastricht but Le Courage has been our favorite for over 10 years. Absolutely amazing tastes and especially good for vegetarians and vegans as well. Their plant based alternative dishes are really just as good (and sometimes even better) compared to the standard menu.

I reserved this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday during a trip to Maastricht. It’s a lovely little restaurant, very cosy, in Van Wyck, so right in the city centre. We were welcomed by the owner who had doubled checked our reservation with me by message in the morning and had taken note of our request for a vegetarian menu for my daughter. The restaurant does a set course meal and you can choose between 4 and 7 courses. The first two courses were fish, both served in a delicious sauce. The last two were meat, also delicious and sophisticated. The desert was a kind of lemon pudding. Very good as well. The courses arrived slow and steadily, which was actually nice because it allowed us to enjoy our food and talk without being rushed. The owner served us most of the time, and was attentive and warm and friendly. We also had a delicious Sancerre wine. We had a lovely evening, and I thought that the price per person was extremely reasonable. I’ve eaten at Michelin star restaurants that were much more expensive and not remotely as refined. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for making our evening so special.

A very good meal and an excellent menu (we take the 4 courses menu). The only remark that we have (apparently is the way of working of the house) is that the service is slow (very) with the purpose of having a relaxing experience. We were not aware of that and having almost 30 minutes of break (except for the dessert) between the courses is something that has created some stress in our group. But at the end having all together we were happy and satisfied with the experience. A nice place to visit (but be patient)!

It’s a small restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food. We went for four courses and that was enough and all very tasteful.

This restaurant is an hidden gem. Every course of the Surprise Menu was a delight, service was excellent and the chef explained every dish. Not much more we can say except that we can't wait to go back again.

It was a great experience, the food was incredible at a reasonable price, the host was very welcoming and we had great explanations from the cook who really looked like he loved his job.

+1We were greeted by the owner. We took the whole 7 courses with wine pairing and it was amazing. They have done their homework to create these amazing dishes and the selection of wines didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend this restaurant and do not hesitate to go for the 7 courses with wine.

Very good and honest kitchen! We had 5 courses and each of them was a very tasty dish. Very friendly and caring owner and staff. Would really reccomend!
