The food is not very good. We don’t understand the excellent reviews. The lamb was dry and overcooked. Some things were too salty. The fatooch salad was very acidic, and the falafel was dry. Maybe the regular chef was out that day.

As a Lebanese person, I am extremely picky as to what is labeled as Lebanese food. Unfortunately, many restaurants claim to be "Lebanese" for marketing purposes. But Le Grand Liban is not one of them. THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. Besides having some of the best Lebanese food I have ever tasted in the world (including Lebanon), Le Grand Liban does a fantastic job bringing the Lebanese culture across the Mediterranean from Beirut to Lyon. The place is scattered with objects found in any Lebanese house, ask the owner for a presentation of these objects, he will passionately explain the idea behind the restaurant and the purpose of these objects. Bottom line: I strongly recommend the Mezze experience if you've never tasted Lebanese food but the Plat Grillade Mixed is also an absolute must! This is the closest you'll get to Lebanon without leaving France.
