I still have a few restaurants left on this trip but this has been hands down the best restaurant in Paris so far. If you know me I don’t say these things lightly. Do not miss coming here. Wine list is deep. Food and service is amazing. Every detail from the music to all the silverware. Ultimate luxury dining with every aspect of the sensory experience catered to.

A real gem of a restaurant, the chef owner Jean François Piège has elevated every morsel of a Tour de France menu into a precious jewel, taking guests to a sensational culinary voyage. We were very impressed by the high level of creativity, the chef's approach to taste, the flavors, the presentation, everything. Wine lovers will never have enough time to pick thru the encyclopedic French wine list, while Chartreuse "amateurs" like me will never guess how much of a treasure is hidden there in plain sight. Expensive yes, but it will be a very special moment you'll never forget, well worth it. I would not be surprised the 2 Michelin stars (macarons) turn into a rating of 3, at least I wish it to JFP and his team.

This is a top restaurant no doubt and they work hard for the stars. It is a very immersive dining experience with attentive staff and good pacing, for the most part. Not sure why but after all but 2 of 14 courses at about the 2.5 hour mark things slowed down and we had another hour and 15 minutes before we “escaped”. Overall very good but was surprised to see I paid $54 a glass for champagne I thought I was offered up front gratuit.

Excellent restaurant. Very creative and exceptionally well presented. It is a simple little place, but smartly decorated. But the ambience is primarily created by the wonderful and engaging staff. They just made it fun. Of course the food was the star and the sauces were soooo good! Quite simply a wonderful and memorable experience.

Very nice experience! Even when I don’t feel good at the end of the diner and I even didn’t finish my last dishes, but the service team is adorable! I love them! Sommelier he is also very professional! I would come back again with my friends!

Truly a remarkable experience. As a two star Michelin restaurant you expect the cuisine to be good, and it did not disappoint!, however the level of service and care provided by the staff was truly remarkable. A must if you are in Paris and looking for an experience!

A culinary journey through France was advertised. You would expect truffles from Perigord, foie gras from Alsace, or a varied selection of cheeses. What you get for more than 300 euros is a show-stopping, slick sequence of dishes, the highest quality of which is a sole. Why the Guide Michelin awarded the restaurant two stars is incomprehensible, since only the quality of the food should be included in the rating.

Let me begin by reminding readers that: 1. This restaurant has 2 Michelin Stars 2. An abridged menu, and wine pairing (2 white, 1 red, 1 dessert wine), with coffee, costs 516 Euros. Any evaluation of the restaurant has to be based on the above premises. And I have to say that I have NEVER been more disappointed by ANY restaurant on the Michelin Guide as much as I have been by Le Grande, let alone one rated 2 stars by Michelin! I write this review as someone who has experience with multiple 3 and 2 stars, and several 1 star restaurants, albeit predominantly in the United States and Switzerland. So, I consider myself experienced, when it comes to evaluating fine dining. To begin with, let's talk about "portion sizes". I have never experienced such appallingly small (almost vanishingly non-existent) portion sizes at ANY fine-dining restaurant. It's an immediate pathway to annoy someone who is paying north of 500 euros for a dining experience. I have never left a fine-dining venue "hungry", except this one. Literally, if you come here, you need "dinner" after this. It's a joke! Second: this is perhaps the only venue I have been to where "bread" and a spread is counted as a "course". What a joke! Several (every single one that I have been to in Switzerland, for example) Michelin star restaurants give you choices of 5 or 6 different types of home-made bread, with different spreads, without even writing it on the menu! And they refill it as many times as you want. Instead, here, they rip you off by using bread as (at least one, and I would say two, if you dissect the menu carefully) "course(s)" (of course, with the usual useless banter to justify it). Third: the quality of ingredients is mediocre to above average at best. While this is subjective, based on my experience, this is far far below what I would expect from even a restaurant that just gets listed on the guide, let alone have 2 stars. Fourth: You will be paying for the "chef's collectibles", in part. They will show you his collections of "salt and pepper containers"; his collection of "steak knives", etc. Instead of attending to provide a "culinary" experience to remember, they will try to impress naive people with silverware! If you do an audit of their pricing structure, they will surely include this as part of the "experience", somewhere in their "accounting". And you need to, to justify the OUTRAGEOUS price, which I get to next. Fifth: probably the biggest--and one that I alluded to before--the price, and the value you get for it! By God's grace, I am one of the fortunate ones for whom money isn't an issue. Yet, for many people, such fine-dining experiences are once or twice in a lifetime occasions! And if you choose this place, based on the Michelin Guide, boy, will you be disappointed, feel cheated, and left with a bitter taste in the mouth towards the entire fine-dining industry! To me, this is a disservice and a disgrace to the outstanding chefs out there, who really do provide "out of this world" experiences to people who step inside their venues! The cost is simply APPALLING, normalized for the pathetic portion sizes, and cheap profiteering (using bread as a "course" instead of something substantive). I repeat: an abridged menu, wine pairing and a coffee: 516 Euros. What you would consider a "proper course" comprises one tiny fish fillet, and a vanishingly small veal dish (and the quality of the veal is extremely average!).Let me give context here, so that people realize what's going on, and why I took the time to write this. Take a train trip for 4 hours from Paris, and reach the town of Lausanne in Switzerland. Take a bus to Crissier, and you will find a "3 Michelin star" restaurant: "Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville de Crissier". Make yourselves a booking there! For a full menu, wines, and coffee, you will pay 489 CHF. And I cannot even EXPLAIN the difference in experiences you will get! At Crissier, you will remember the experience for a LIFETIME; you will be treated to one "substantive" course after another; there will be unlimited (diverse, flavored) bread--NOT counted as a course; and boy, will you feel "satisfied" after the last dish has been served (referring to portion sizes). And I cannot even begin to describe the "taste", "presentation", and things of that nature here! People say Switzerland is expensive. But for those even considering a restaurant like Le Grande, do yourselves a favour, and try Swiss fine dining venues, beginning with Crissier. You will "taste" what I am saying! Another "expensive" city in the world: San Francisco, USA. Take yourselves to the 3-star rated Atelier Crenn, or the 2-star rated Acquerello or Californios. You will see that it is literally a NIGHT AND DAY difference. All three of the above, that I have personally experienced, are experiences to remember for a lifetime--same as that I described above for Crissier. And all three cost LESS than this place! All three will leave you satisfied to your core. A note to Michelin, if at all they care to read: WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON WITH YOUR QUALITY CONTROL? How in the WORLD does a restaurant like this get 2 stars? You need to do a check, as to how much inherent bias there exists in your ratings! Send the SAME judges to the restaurants I mentioned, and have them provide a comparative rating. Take price into consideration! This place does not even deserve to be on the guide, let alone have "2 STARS"! The Michelin Guide used to be "sacred" to me till this day, as ALL the restaurants I have been to before (several 1 stars and other 2 stars, that I don't even have space to write about in detail here) are above a VERY VERY HIGH bar! It's an earnest request from someone who holds the Michelin Guide sacred: PLEASE re-evaluate this place. It's a pathetic outlier; a disgrace to fine-dining! To anyone considering this restaurant: my earnest advice is to run a million miles away. Even if, like me, you are blessed to be able to essentially throw away 500 euros without it having an impact on your life, you will regret the feeling of being cheated, leaving hungry, and miss out on experiencing the best that the fine dining industry (comprising absolutely genius chefs) has to offer. Finally, as someone who loves and cherishes culinary experiences, and is a champion of the fine-dining industry, to anyone who has been to this place, left bitterly disappointed, like I have, please do not base your impression of the industry on this experience. This place is an anathema to the industry: it's the worst that you will see of it, with mindset far far removed from one that cares for the glimpses that such a place SHOULD provide to anyone getting their introduction to the wonderful world of culinary art and excellence.

Great intimate atmosphere with a friendly staff. All the dishes will make you discover a new thing and are absolutely delicious. One of my absolute favorites! It's also in perfect quantity: there is a lot of food but it's designed so you can finish it all. Amazing wines too with a lot of choices.

Amazing experience. Beautiful decor and cutlery. Service goes above and beyond. Would suggest a second meat course (considering the price point) or at least the option of a second meat course, otherwise, moreover, sommelier can really only include one glass of red with the pairing.

I know this place, I did eat at Les Ambassador at Crillions like many years ago, when he was a kitchen chef there, it’s my 5 time at the restaurant - and the menu was so disappointing- so not as before- and so out focused, like they forgot there kitchen and wanted to be more Northern- but they didn’t succeed with it, dray, taste less food, with out a soul - the simple mide lost focus, and is having to much going on with all other restaurants ect. A shame!

This was our first visit to Le Grand, and everything is exceptional. We enjoyed a tasting menu with wine pairings for lunch. The courses were innovative and original, perfectly sized, very creative and delicious. The wine pairings were as good or better than the food and were also very creative. The service was attentive, friendly, and informed. We loved the course offered back in the kitchen. Everyone should have the pleasure to enjoy an experience like Le Grand once in life. I hope we can return.

Absolutely magnificent restaurant, From the time you walk into the door you are greeted warmly by the kitchen staff and the chef, And then are seated in their small but incredibly tastefully decorated dining room. The service was absolutely frustrate and the food was simply delicious. We were not in a big drinking mood, but the sommelier said “no problem,“ and paired some lovely glasses of wine with our various courses. I don’t live in Paris, but if I did, I would definitely return to this fabulous restaurant.

We had a fantastic Lunch at Le Grand Restaurant. This was the final episode of our gourmet holiday and a dazzling experience. Until it got somewhat spoilt by a surprise on the bill. One glass of champagne for which we got no opportunity of checking the price when we got it presented at the table, got billed an astronomic 52 Euros a glass ! Half the bill... what a shame really restaurants should make an effort so as not to leave a bitter taste in the customer’s mind. After we left the restaurant we felt it was inappropriate to this extent, voiced it to the Maître Dh’ who despite his professionalism, didn’t offer a resolution. We loved this restaurant, the quality of the product, the kindness of the staff, and now this sad episode is all we are remembering. Being customary to such establishments, none of them have gone to such extremes when offering an aperitif. I hope this gets rectified and suggest to future clients to turn down alcohol unless they have a clear view of their order.
