We were welcomed but there was some confusion over our booking, which I had to point to myself on their list. The food tasted good but my goat cheese salad (as a main course) had a paltry amount of cheese and was mostly green salad. My wife’s pizza was barely warm when served. Eating was disturbed by two parties each of about 14 persons, who arrived but were not seated by the staff for several minutes, and were just milling around. I could not get anybody’s attention to get the bill so went up to the desk to ask for it. It still took some 8 minutes for someone to get it. Very disappointing

The food was amazing. Great wine selection and the dessert was exceptional. We had to change and rebook due to travel delays but luckily they let us keep our modified reservation.

There was a waiter there who greeted everyone at the door or at the table with such chivalry; handshakes and engaging expressions. He kind of reminded me of the man who played Barney Miller years ago. It set the stage for a wonderful evening ahead. The rest of the staff were hard workers and just as nice. Super clean and great food. There was a family dining there that was nothing but trouble. The grown sons and father were so mean towards wife and Mother. The waiter, somehow, through his nice behavior was able to subdue their loudness and generally poor behavior. C’est la vie. The desserts were sooo good. All in all, a superb choice.

We had a wonderful meal in this very authentic restaurant. It was away from tourist areas but well worth the walk. Very well paced dinner with multiple courses that were all delicious. He surprised us with champagne at the end of an excellent meal. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly and attentive service. Good menu with a variety of French dishes, also including typical Alsatian cuisine (had the magret duck and salmon with risotto). Seems to be a favorite spot which was full all night with a combination of locals and tourists.

Excelent food, very good price, friendly environement. I was an unexpected surpresa. I fully recomend this restaurant. Behind a simple external apearance, hides a nice place to enjoy a delicious meal.

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and it really did tick all the boxes. Great service and local cuisine. Well priced dishes too. Would highly recommend it.

Food was excellent, really good and tasty. service speed was good, however, it was assumed we were a different nationality and was given thats nationalities menu. When we explained we were english,l and would like the other menu. they gave us the correct menu promptly. however, when we later asked for the dessert menu, the same waiter gave us the assumed nationalities dessert menu (even though we had explained we were english). This lead to us not ordering dessert, and was the only issue with this restaurant. Would go there again though.

This restaurant is okay. But what is aggravating is all the emails following aski no you to rate their food and service without the option to unsubscribe. The fork.com can kiss my ass.com. So irritating and I think illegal. Save yourself the spam and eat elsewhere.

I came on the 6th of August and the waiter enthusiastically introduced me to the specials on their little blackboard in English. I ended up choosing the oil-sealed duck breast for lunch, which was half cooked and had the texture of tuna sashimi, the vegetables underneath were marinated in the sauce and the buttered lumps were much more flavourful and tasty than the German Spätzle, and the presentation was beautiful. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, the air conditioning was on and cool, and the service was prompt and on point.

Le Kuhn had received very favorable reviews on TripAdvisor. That was the basis for our selection. But we found the experience unexceptional. Tables were laid out on the street, which was a bonus with Covid rates rising. But the downside was the staff were pleasant but inattentive, in part, I imagine, because the waiter was keen on gaining the attention of two women dining at a nearby table:) The selection of appetizers was uninspiring, either the local tarte flambée (think of a very thin pizza) or a small salad, So, we passed, A couple of staple dishes were unavailable. So, I ordered the hanger steak. It was cooked as I had ordered but had been heavily marinated, so it tasted quite salty. The accompanying french fries were a strange combination: undercooked and yet crunchy. My wife's salad gourmand was better generously portioned and fresh. Again, the list of desserts was uninspiring and we decided against it, looking for a nice ice cream at many of the nearby cafes. To be fair, we had spent a couple of months in Paris beforehand and are therefore used to good food. But there was nothing about our meal at Le Kuhn that would encourage me to return if I visit Strasbourg again.

This little restaurant was a great find. The food and wine are very Alsatian and ready good. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a bit crowded probably because it’s one of the few restaurants open on Easter Monday. All good things, nothing bad to say about this place.
