La Mathusalem is a hidden gem in Paris for culinary indulgence, offering a truly dining experience. Every dish is artfully crafted, pairing perfectly with their extensive wine collections. The menu for my lunch was a starter of roast pumpkin with spices & pomegranate, the main course of fish pie garnished with torched shrimps, the dessert of tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream & chantilly cream. All exudes refined, umami twist on the classic dishes, making it an exquisite experience. A must-visit for discerning food and wine lovers.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times , and when ever we have out of town visitors it’s a reliable favourite. The welcome, the ambience, the menu, and the service are always good. It feels like an authentic local French restaurant.

The food was very good. The service average as the waiters were too busy. Unfortunatly the owner of the restaurant has packed the room with tables which, in addition, were too tiny resulting in an extremly noisy place. It's rare (even in Paris) to see such a settup for a restaurant.

I have lived in Paris for 7 years and by far Mathusalem is the best one in town. Owners are very kind, food is amazing and atmosphere is super nice. We are always hosted like family at Mathusalem

This is the real French restaurant experience. Excellent, thoughtful service but not fussy. The manager, recognizing that our French was limited, checked on us during our meal. We shared a starter and they thoughtfully split it for us. The menu (in November) was full of rich “winter food”. We had pork with sweet potatoes served with a bright soy sauce on the side. With a rich Medoc, reasonably priced, it was an excellent winter meal. The dessert - we shared a choux pastry with ice cream and chocolate sauce - was one of the best we’ve had.

We discovered this handsome restaurant on a quiet night. Our charming servers were attentive and their sense of humour was a treat. The entrées of scotch egg and smoked salmon were great choices. The steak and sea bass were hits and the “andouillette” was more of an acquired taste option. The three of us enjoyed our dessert picks. This eatery is a place we’d recommend without hesitation and we hope to return.

We loved our experience at le Mathusalem. The owner greeted us at the door, showed us to our table, and explained every dish on the menu. Sweet ambience…a 16th arr treasure!

We LOVED our dinner at Le Mathusalem! Wonderful staff, incredible food, and a lovely ambiance. And oh my goodness - the desserts! We tried the sorbet and a lemon tart and were blown away by both. This was one of our favorite dinners since we moved to Paris in April. It was our first time dining here, but definitely will not be our last!

An old favorite of ours that never disappoints. Delicious food, attentive service and lovely ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit. A little off the beaten path, but worth the trip.

Fabulous food with excellent wine recommendations, staff were attentive, knowledgable and always happy to help. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back!!

It was so unfortunate that the cuisine of the restaurant was not up to its normal standard of excellence last night. I live nearby and have frequented Mathusalem over the years. Even the fries were average, ok... I will return though.

Great welcome and service throughout the evening. Food was delicious and presented well. Good choice of wine. The place had a really nice buzz - not the place to go for a nice quiet meal but for a family or friend catch up where you can relax and chat away.

Typical French bistrot. Very good, fresh and tasty food. Renewed menu card (yes indeed I had already come the day before). Impressive wine list: Daniel gently advised us. Friendly and very welcoming owners and staff.
