We were outside, a warm day and we had the easter menu and it was very good. I recommend this restaurant

My husband and I were nearly 1h30m late for our dinner reservation because of severe traffic. We contacted the restaurant and they said that they would hold our table until closing time and they did. We enjoyed our meal. The location is beautiful on Place de la Liberation, particularly at night. Another huge bonus - it is very dog friendly. The hostess even brought a water bowl for our dogs without being asked. It was really appreciated after an 11h drive that should have taken 7 hours.

I waited to write this review as I really wanted to reflect and find something positive so here goes. The location was excellent and the restaurant was nicely air conditioned. Unfortunately, the staff were rude, miserable and impossible to get their attention. At first we wondered if it was just us but the guy at the table to my left went looking for a server twice to request drinks and the table to our right did the same to complain about the desert being frozen (We think that’s what they complained about). As for the food, it was generally ok although the fries were dreadful. They were cold and tasted re-heated. We would have requested fresh ones but even if you get a servers attention, they still don’t come over. I had read mixed reviews about this restaurant but I mistakenly thought it would be ok. We were upset that we wasted one of our 3 nights at this place and for that reason, I had to write this review. We did not choose wisely

Superb food and service!

Horrible
6.0
The food was ok but the price was to high taken the quality into consideration. And the waiters were very jung girls knowing little about food and wine

Most of the food was good but it can be better The service was not good. For almost 15 minutes all service personnel was not present
5.5
The food was underwhelming in relation to the price.

There were six of us. Veal and fish, cooked perfectly. Broccoli on the side (€5) was crumbled and barely warm. Two people ordered the asparagus risotto, which they didn't eat because it was so overcooked and tasteless. Service was absent and impersonal. It didn't live up to the name.

Staff all unhappy looking but service and food good. Steak tartar v/good

The starters were cold and had obviously been standing on the side for a while, as they arrived within 3 min. The fois gras was nice but they snails were green and quite frankly horrible. But the worst was the main of tripe. If you serve offal it needs to be fresh and well cooked. This was neither and smelled of ‘gut’. I tried to explain this to the waiter (in French) but he couldn’t have cared less about an unhappy customer

Very delicious food, good menu, perfect view from our place to the Liberty Square and The Palace. Kind people, who met us and followed to table. Sometimes we were missing for waiter: nobody refilled grasses, so I did it myself.
5.5
As far as atmosphere it was much too bright on the restaurant. The food was just ok.

The mashed potatoes were awesome. Everything else, from the service to the Bresse chicken to the tuna, was meh. We had great seats looking out at the Place though, so that was nice! I was disappointed as this was our last big hit in Dijon!

Was happy to see the Bresse chicken on the menu. Nicest place open on a Sunday. Great location to sit out on the square and just enjoy. Tiramisu was an interesting take, very good.

Amazing
7.5
the restaurant is located right across from the Ducal Palace and has a beautiful view of the palace and of the square. Inside it is rather sparse but the view makes up for the austere decor. The food was well prepared, not your regular tourist fare. however, the service was very poor, not all dishes brought to the table together, some orders were not brought at all, the waiters were inattentive. Not the level of service one expects for the price.

Le Pré aux Clercs was one of the few fine dining restaurants in Dijon open on a Sunday but far exceeded our expectations. All 3 courses were outstanding. My husband declared the ouefs en meurette the best he'd ever eaten, the veal was cooked to perfection (nicely pink) and the moelleux de chocolat was divine. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

The location and quality of food was very good but the service was just robotic and very stiff and cold. The place and service and staff simply lacked any semblance of warmth and welcome. It felt far too orchestrated and pretentious with minimal personal interaction, almost zero eye contact or smiles, and just really felt very cold. We've been around France and Switzerland for 3 weeks this trip, can do ok in French and do speak other languages, and are well traveled, so our are expectations are realistic. This place was just too pretentious, even compared to the Ritz in Geneva. And the place was not full and had a good mix of older patrons, families with small kids and adult groups. Just be nicer and warmer to customers and the experience would improve drastically.

Food was excellent , thought it was a few small mistake with the order itself ( level of meet cooking) . Anyway we had a big company and spent the perfect evening

The food was mediocre and the service was borderline friendly. It was cold in the restaurant and upstairs looked much nicer than where we sat downstairs

Great restaurant with great service and food. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They have great local dishes and everything is made to a high quality. It’s in a wonderful location right in the heart of historic Dijon. We really enjoyed it!

Delicious and fresh food that is carefully crafted—we all loved the meal. Country pate with dried fruit was so flavorful. French fries served with béarnaise sauce with tarragon was a cut above. Fish was served with the most delicious creamy tomato sauce. Profiteroles made with pate a choux that was not doughy and balanced with the ice cream filling. A memorable meal that was surprisingly reasonable.

Excellent atmosphere, food and service. We had a lovely bottle of sparkling wine and really enjoyed the set menu.

Lovely setting. Service very good. Food good. Just a little over the top price wise. Service charge included but inferred a tip would be good too ....

Nice place in the city centre. They pay attention to food allergies, and they had gluten free bread too! The staff was super kind. Highly recommended!

This is one of the most delicious meals that we have eaten since being in France. My husband is a celiac and had no issues with their recommendations. Additionally, they even brought him gluten free rolls!

I didn't like the assortments in my dishes. Simply a mater of taste.
