The restaurant was a bit hard to find since it appears to be in a residential neighborhood, but it was well worth the search. There were many good choices for the first and main courses and everything we cholse was delicious. The interior has a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent. Definitely a place to revisit.

Nicolai was warm, friendly, and attentive. He is fluent in English but was patient with me practicing my French. Food was delicious; I recommend especially the roasted Camembert. Decor was quirky and interesting; it was a nice evening for us!

It was our 44th wedding anniversary, which we were celebrating with our daughter and her fiancée. It was a perfect evening. Great, French bistro-type food, excellent selection of reasonably priced wine and a warm, relaxed vibe with attentive but not intrusive service. Couldn't have been bettered.

Great service, wonderful food and lovely time spent with friends while in Paris! The ambience was very warm and cosy and we felt like home after a long day traveling and walking around Paris! I would definitely go back, when in town!

Our last night in Paris and we were looking for some authentic French cooking away from the usual tourist haunts, but still walkable from our base. Le Refuge du Passé fit the bill perfectly. The interior was cozy and inviting, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious: especially the camembert rôti and the chou farci.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. We were tired from. Driving across France and came to done at this little secret hideaway with just the most delicious food. The starter was not only unusual but excellent. The main course equally so, we left feeling pleased that we had found such a gem. Go there and enjoy every minute with a delight of tatebuds and excellent quality of food and service. Thank you for a great experience.

Fabulous local restaurant and the best meal we had in Paris. Went New Year’s Day and a very charming place with such a friendly waiter who explained everything. Camembert appetizer tremendous as was cassoulet, stuffed cabbage and tartileffe. Very much worth seeking out!

If you want to experience real French food this is the place to go. Baked Camembert was incredible. Mains of Duck cassoulet and Ham knuckle and dessert of Chocolate pudding with Pistachio ice cream

The service was very kind, the place is nice and cosy. However the food is very disappointing, for the taste, quality and visual composition. After all, this is a restaurant, and if the food is nothing special, a good service is unfortunately not enough to go back. Pity.

Awesome customer service! and the food were mouth-watering. A bit off the path if you are staying in the main part of the city but definitely worth a meal if you are in the area. Thanks to a lovely gentleman Nicolas for the awesome service i have ever experienced in Paris, he also speak perfect English which is good for the english speaker like me. Hidden gems and definitely i will be back soon.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and the owner Nicholas is simply amazing. Prices are not very cheap, but the experience justifies the price which after all is average for Paris. , big portions and very good choice of dishes, I would have liked to try the whole menu.

Very friendly and quiet hideaway! Perfect for lunch with friends you want to catch up with. Country atmosphere and great Cassoulet! The foies gras entree on mango tart was sublime!
