Long wait to place prder, not offered a drink. Food when it came was OK but nothing special. The sole waiter was pleasant but grossly overwhelmed. Like others gave up any thought of a desert after being ignored for 30 mins after finishing main course Completely soulless atmosphere.

We had lunch at the restaurant together with friends. The place is impressive with the old beams, has a very nice atmosphere. The food was good, The starters were really good, the meat of the main courses were well prepared. The portions are big, too big. The service was a little challenging. Based on the number of broken glasses and plates they had only two novice waiters in the restaurant who had difficulties to serve the guest. The restaurant was not even half full hence this is something they need to review as waiting times were long, several guests started to make self-service for cutlery, salt, pepper.

Very disappointing. There was a single person front of house seating people, manning the bar, taking orders (incorrectly in our case) and service was therefore slow..... Not sure if there was a reason for the lack of staff and I do make allowances for these post-covid days but this was bad for him and for the guests. The food choices look good on the menu - but the menu itself is far too long for an establishment of this size to be able to execute correctly - suspect most food is brought in and just baked/re-heated. I had steak and was "upsold" a vegetables side - although the plate already had vegetables on it..... The vegetables were so sweet they could have been a dessert (I had requested rather than chips as I am diabetic and follow a strict diet). My husband had veal cordon bleu - this was OK but the accompanying chips were dry and tasteless. The rum baba seems to have been made by someone who has read a description but never eaten one.... it was a totally dry cake then drowned in pure rum at the table - where was the syrup? All in all not a good advert for French cuisine!
