We were disappointed by our experience at VLT. We arrived for our 19h30 reservation to an almost empty restaurant…only one other table of 2 diners present. The waiter was friendly and seated us promptly. He took our drink orders and returned quickly. VLT has a limited menu which we knew in advance. We all ordered the beef bourguignon. We were told that it was sold out as well as the gambas dish because they served over 20 customers at lunch. So we ordered the special of the day which was the roasted lamb shoulder with a potato purée. The waiter took our order to the kitchen and returned shortly to tell us there was no purée left so our meals would be served with french fries. Had we known all of this in advance of our drink orders, we would definitely have gone elsewhere for dinner.

You are right and we apologize for the missing dishes on the menu. An explanation: We cook everything with fresh products and that day, we had a lot of people at lunch and we were short of merchandise to finish the evening service. This happens sometimes, rarely and we do everything we can to avoid it. We regret your have been disappointed this day

9.5/10we had an excellent meal the onion and fish soups were great. the pork with mash ans salmon en croute were excellent and tge desert of meringue floating l bergamot infused custard was amazing. The waiter was very efficient and professional. he was also very friendly and helpful. Tge meal was very reasonable especially with 50% off.

I’ve been there for dinner, amazing typical food, they make you feel like home. Shoutout to the Italian waiter, super nice and kind. The price (low) is worth the food and service. If you come to Nice you can’t skip this.

4.5/10Very noisy! Because of the other restaurant next to it. The tuna was tasteless and like rubber! The skewers were not very good although the waiter was quite nice. Not much choice in the menu! Not really a menu for the summer!

We had a really nice meal, plenty of choice on the menu, octopus salad was fantastic, also had duck & whole sea bream, generous portions, good selection for drinks. We sat outside on a warm and sunny evening, nice ambience.

The service was amazing. I left some of the beef as it was sinewy, however I didn't complain. The waiter noticed and asked if there was a problem with the meat as he had some recent issues with their butcher. He was really apologetic and insisted on not charging us for this. All the other food was delicious. A lovely rose too!

We've booked a set menu, but the price was the same as if you'd walked in, only got additional yums. I think the good was great, and absolutely great value for money. We've added 2.5 euro for the tartar, as it had supplement for the set menu. Tried snails, fromage tartlet, tartar, beautifully done beef cheeks (recommend!), plus desserts which were good too (chocolate mouse, and selection of pastries which went with coffee really nicely). Plus great wine. Total bill about 80 euros, which is fantastic.

A very cosy restaurant with absolutely amazing food. My girlfriend had the beef cheeks and the dish was fantastic. If you're coming here and not really sure what to eat, take the beef cheeks! 😄

3/10This is the restaurant of an hotel. You eat literally nearby the check in desk of the hotel, in the hall. After we came we discover that many of the dishes listed on the fork were not available using the promotion. The quality of food is average, I would prefer to eat somewhere else in Nice.

9.5/10We had an outstanding dining experience at Le VLT. It is an eclectic restaurant located inside a small and cosy hotel in vieux Nice, offering a variety of meat and fish dishes, even escargots. The ambiance was simple and neat, yet pleasant, the food was mouthwatering and well presented with generous, tasty portions (salmon and lamb, both excellent) but what really left us extremely pleased was the excellent five-star service provided. The chef de salle Gabriele is an experienced and knowledgeable person, very attentive to every diner’s needs and whims. He recommended dishes and explained the menu. At the end of the meal we were treated to a spicy and aromatic homemade rum. Not only did he meet our expectations, he exceeded them by far! Pleasantly surprised; highly recommended!

Solid restaurant with nice service. The food festival offer was not valid on the „traditional plat“ like beef tatare, so maybe the overall menu for 22.70 is the best choice? Carafe wine was quite pricy. Overall solid lunch.

10/10Best one among the restaurants I've visitied for 6 days in France. Many locals seemed to visit during my dining. Staff was perfectly kind and good at English communication. Foie gras, steamed mussels, and meat were fantastic! Fried (or deeply sizzling) potatos served with beef/duck was quite impressive. It was crispy while delicously oliy. Great dining experience in a hidden gem.
