We dine at Les Papilles each time we come to Paris. One of our favorites fixed course restaurants. Very good wine collection. Easy to get to on foot, taxi, or public transportation.

We had the best time here; the staff, the ambiance, the food, the wine all amazing! We did the 4 course menu and their main was lamb. Unfortunately my sister doesn’t eat red meat and they were happy to sub that for a fish. Tomas made our experience so special and he recommended quite possibly the best wine I’ve ever tasted. I ended up buying a bottle. Run, don’t walk here you won’t regret it!

Very welcoming, everything explained very well and the wine and food are excellent. I thought the service really shined here and the presentation was excellent. My favorite is somewhat a surprise a creamy celery soup. (It’s more than that with accompanying garnish.) The lamb was very good and the lemon cream dessert was the best I’ve had.

This small, colorfully-decorated bistro has amazing food. We started with a pumpkin soup that we ladled around a delicate center of crème, spicy pork, and other tasty ingredients. The pork cheeks, which were super tender and surrounded by carrots, potatoes, shallots, and a sauce, similar to au jus, that you could slurp by itself, made me re-vision and generally dismiss my previous pot roasts. Then, we ate a small triangle of cow-derived (buttery) bleu cheese accompanied by a prune with a dark, sweet coulis. To end, we had what seemed like a chocolate mousse with some crumbles atop. The apparent owner recommended a bottle of Condrieu, which perfectly fit this unforgettable meal.

Wow! I lived in Paris and have been visiting at least once a year since then. Tonight I had a fabulous culinary experience, the food was exceptional, just a delight. The service and the wine selection were exceptional too. I'd recommend this place and go as far as to say everyone should visit this place at least once.

Our second time eating at Les Papilles along with our daughter and husband going on our recommendation. We just love this restaurant! Food is always fabulous - creamed zucchini soup with little croutons, pieces of chorizo, and tiny veggies. Guinea foil in the copper baking dish the main course always comes in with a delicious sauce of veal stock and seasonings with, bacon, red cabbage, carrots, peppers, beets et. Cheese course of blue cheese with a prune and prune sauce and lastly a rice pudding topped with a caramel sauce. Fantastique! Wide selection of wines with a knowledgeable sommelier. Two thumbs way up👍🏻👍🏻

This, I believe, to be a true experience of dining in a Paris bistro. Le Patron will personally describehis particular menu of the day at each table. This is done with such enthusiasm and no doubt passion that one cannot help but to follow the suggestion. I feel confident you will not be disappointed. Excellent service and fantastic food. Certainly good value and highly recommended.

The food was amazing! Best food we’ve had on our visit to France. We went with the pre set menu because we were hoping to try traditional food and it did not disappoint. Staff were also very responsive. As soon as we’d be done with anything on our table they were quick to ask if we needed anything else. Staff were friendly as well which we appreciated. If you’re in Paris I would recommend eating here.

From entering the restaurant to leaving, the entire experience was sublime. The quality of the food was as good as I have had for a long while. The service was attentive with just enough information to be efficient without being intrusive. Very reasonably priced for such a special experience.

Truly an authentic French bistro with an excellent chef! Walking up the hill, we were starting to get concerned as this is not a tourist area! But alas our destination was worth the walk and was so good! Excellent wines and food!! There were many regulars! You will not be disappointed!

If you have any food allergies or limitations, don't epect much in the way of accommodations. The main course and soup were excellent. However, since I notified them in advance that I had issues with gluten and dairy, I expected something more interesting as a substitution (appetizer was lettuce and dessert was raw grapefruit slices. Either they should have advised me they were'nt able to adiquately modify my meal or come up with something interesting and worthy of the prices they charge for a pre-fix meal. I had heard great things about the restaurant but came away very disappointed.

Excellent service by maitre’de with full explanation of meal on offer coupled with excellent choices of wine. The food was magnificent and the wines matched perfectly. Am seriously considering returning before leaving Paris.

This is my 9th visit to Les Papilles - the first of which was not long after it opened. The vision of Bertrand Bluy remains today - as if you were invited to dinner at his place: a soup, a pot meal, a cheese and a desert. And so it is was on my last visit - delectable, tasty, value for money food prepared and served by people who care about your experience. It's fair to say that Les Papilles is not for everyone mostly because they expect 'a la carte' and it's not, so they are disappointed. But many international foodies flock to this little piece of food joy on Rue Gay Lussac as do I whenever I'm in Paris. It is consistently what it says it is. And the wine selection is fantastic with ready help available and the corkage is very reasonable. I mostly buy wine by the glass and I'm never disappointed by Bertrand or his brother's choice of wine.
