food, ambiance and environment were nice, but we had a rough start as our table wasn’t ready despite the reservation. Luckily, things improved once we were seated.

I’m not conventionally dressed guy so interesting how restaurants react, also a solo diner. Arrived, offered in empty restaurant worst table in room. Asked to be moved, after a wait to check was moved. Asked if I wanted a drink, ordered a cocktail, but noticed everyone else when they arrived were offered a cocktail of the day/something else or their choice. I ordered my meal but when it came to desert I asked to see the menu as I was still hungry and wanted to order another starter, the menu was brought and I picked another dish, I then realised that they had taken away the bread, olives, butter and cheese that I had not finished (but payed for)I mentioned this to a waiter who then walked off. My extra starter arrived which I ate but the missing bread etc was not mentioned. I had desert and paid my bill. I noted I was not offered a complimentary liquor as others were. I paid the bill and asked for the manager explained re the bread and other things but was basically ignored.

8.5/10I didn’t like that they bring bread over to the table with some olives and some cheese ask if you want bread but forget to mention it’s around 6 euro pp for the bread and an additional charge for the cheese. It’s just tacky. We both had different risottos. My spouse had an octopus risotto but the octopus was fried and just placed on the side and not incorporated. I had one with scallops which was good. The waiter also pushed a tip and I think that’s bc mostly Americans come here. Everything was fine. Not great but I probably wouldn’t return.

The location is really nicely set up and the menu has a lot of different options for decent prices. The service was exceptional as our waiter was so attentive and helpful. We truly enjoyed the meal and experience.

What a hidden gem, down a back street of Bairro Alto. Sophisticated, but not snobby. Food was hearty and delicious and the service was impeccable. Loved it! Ps the goat dish was the best!

10/10Was one of a few restaurants our hotel recommended and we weren’t disappointed. Everything was great just a shame that we weren’t full as desserts looked great as well. If I make it back to Lisbon we will visit again.

10/10We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The service was excellent, the staff were so hospitable and made the night perfect for her and the food the best we have had in Lisbon. Would highly recommend and definitely go back when next in the city.

10/10We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The menu was varied and thoughtful. The staff recommended a vegetarian curry dish and it was super tasty. Additionally, the seafood and the cheese dishes were very tasty. The ambience, service and food are indeed top notch.

10/10Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The restaurant is very well designed, attractive and the seating is comfortable. The staff is friendly without being fawning, and provided perfect wine pairings (not knowing either Portuguese wines or Portuguese cooking well). The wines were also excellent - always local Portuguese wines that are typically only described by the region they come from; the owner's family provided both a great white and a great red. And the food was also exceptional - perfectly prepared seafood and meats, also several local desserts you won't find anywhere else. The only small drawback is a lack of vegetarian entrees - a vegetable risotto that was plain compared to the other entrees ordered at our table.

3/10This restaurant is both overpriced and truly awful - we were given bread without staff telling us it was nearly €6 EACH. They then offered us a cheese at the same time, again not declaring it was an additional €11.50. Most restaurants in Lisbon give these for free at the start of a meal! Service was mixed, one good staff member one awful. Our bottle of water was replaced without us being asked if we wanted another (an additional €6.50!) food was at best average, over salted and greasy. When the bill came, we had been overcharged - when I asked to see the menu to check the prices again (as by this time I was seriously fed up) they miraculously found the ‘right’ bill for our table. Worst experience we had in Lisbon and it’s hard to see this as anything other than a scam.

The food excellent and the service good. To start I had a wonderful plate of prawns in a rich garlicky sauce - delicious to the last mouthful. For the main course I had the octopus with a tasty selection of vegetables. All in all the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My waiter was very attentive and helpful throughout. I’m sorry to include a negative comment. I was there early in the evening when there weren’t too many other guests in. I found it a bit off putting that there were more waiters than guests and that they were all lined up observing and ready to attend to guests needs. I appreciate getting attention and service but here it left me feeling uncomfortable.

I am not a person who writes many reviews, but Lisbon a Niote was so.good I am making an exception. The restaurant is much bigger and more stylish than I expected, but not noisy or crowded. Service was michlin star good - attentive but not "in your face". Food tasty and well presented. Overall I am happy to recommend. It is not cheap - we spent over 250 euros for two - but fair value and I would happily go again.

This restaurant offers impeccable food and service. The cosy, and calm ambience makes for a very special evening. The food was superb, and really well presented. Waiters were polite, helpful, and never intrusive. Marcus was a delightful waiter and we enjoyed his knowledge of all things gastronomical, and the wonderful digestives post dinner. We’d certainly return to this restaurant.
