This is a very special restaurant. The service, the food, and the wine is unlike anything you will experience anywhere else. The host is delightful, and passionate about his food. Everything is local, and the provenance of all of the ingredients is described in detail. The food is superb. Every time we have dined here, we have been the only ones in the restaurant. And this is not because the restaurant is unpopular, it is because that is the choice of the host, so that he can devote to you his undivided attention. I cannot imagine that there can be many places in the world quite like this.

It is not a restaurant, it is a learning experience! Food is delicious, but even better are the stories and learnings that João shares with every single dish. It may look expensive, but it is an amazing experience - food and culture all in one!

Very intimate dinner experience with outstanding set menu with wine pairings. We loved the stories that came with each dish and new wine. Would highly recommend this dinner experience!

Loki is one of the Algarve’s real hidden gems. If you’re planning to explore a few fine dining spots, go to Loki last. Most places will feel underwhelming after. João runs the kitchen solo and the detail he puts into every dish is seriously impressive. There’s no official wine pairing, but it’s one of the rare places with a proper selection of good Algarvian wines - which, if you’ve tried looking, you’ll know isn’t easy to find.

+3READ THIS REVIEW. I have not read any other reviews which mention that this is an intimate, one table only dining experience which is magical, earnest and heartfelt. The dishes change daily depending on what organic, locally sourced produce is available that day. João (the person running the ENTIRE place) was so attentive, sensitive and passionate. He made and introduced every single dish which was incredibly sentimental. The entire concept is so well thought out. The dishes, illustrations on the wall, wooden spoons are all considered and from the Algarve. As someone who constantly seeks interesting and exciting food - I have been more than satiated, I’ve had my f*cking socks blown off. Absolutely astounding. So much appreciation for the infinitely talented Joao 🙏🏽

Absolutely amazing culinary experience, expertly crafted using wonderful locally sourced ingredients by an absolute genius magician. Very talented. Better than some Michelin star restaurants we’ve eaten at. Lovely evening, lovely experience.

Excellent food, concentrated on local produce and traditional methods.Huge flavours. João has a passion for his craft and Algarvian tradition, and it shows in the dishes he serves, all with an explanation of the ingredients and their origin, and how he transforms them into some of the best food we have ever eaten. At least as good as the Michelin starred restaurants we have been to.

This was a very special meal at a very special restaurant. A very limited number of guests for a surprise 11 course meal. An tiny jewel with stunning food on exquisite china. An experience well worth repeating. Many thanks Chef

An amazing experience!!! Chef João created a fantastic, creative, and beautifully presented menu, paired with local wines. As much of the menu and wines are locally sourced, we learned a lot about the Algarve as well.

We had an excellent meal in a very intimate atmosphere, with a passionate chef. Definitely an experience to have again. Interesting wines as well, all from the Algarve

You will never be prepared for this gastronomical delight. One Chef, your table and a night to remember. Only one reservation per night. Oh and I wish I could see you face when you get to the front door.

An absolute must have experience. Very intimate with every dish produce and inspiration explained prior to each of the 11 courses. Very knowledgable about origins of produce and authentic to his skill and to Portuguese cuisine. He should be on the Michelin watch list and if he isn’t now, he will be soon. Worthy of the praise. Go.

Loki was an amazing experience! The food, atmosphere and Chef João exceeded our expectations. Every course was delicious and I still cannot decide which was my favorite. Perfect spot for anyone looking for a unique Portuguese cuisine experience!

Great service and local foods, a good attempt to copy Michelin cuisine without being so expensive. the wine list is not extensive but is good. Menu+ wine would be around 80€/person

The inconspicuous entrance opens up to a small 3 tables interior. The chef took his time to enlightened us of the ingredients he carefully and thoughtfully selected for our surprise 11 course degustation menu. The atmosphere would have been livelier if not for the unfortunate COVID-19 because we were the only patrons. Overall, highly recommended and will come back again.
