The menu was seasonal, reduced in a few options and also very clear in the explanation of the plates, which were always what we expected and very good. I liked a lot my risotto with scampi pastis-flambé. It was also very filling. My partner had a fish filet with asparagus, which was very good, could have been some more in portion. We shared as an entrèe a Brioche with scampi tartar and harissa and the dessert trio. We could feel that there were young people working here that with a reduced menu could focus on deliver a good food and interesting combinations. We liked that the service stuff left us time between dishes and at the begin

Great cuisine. It's one of those places you know it's all fresh because there are only four main dish choices. We did not try the desserts. But the panisse were delish for a shared starter. Lovely ambiance, great music.

+2We have been looking for a good restaurant in Aix for years and finally we have found one! The food is modern and interesting, full of flavour and beautifully presented but not fussy or pretentious. The service was very friendly and attentive without being invasive and the ambience very welcoming and conducive to sitting and really enjoying your meal. We were a party of 5 and tried a variety of dishes and no one was disappointed. I thoroughly recommend it.

We discovered Lou Mao in May, as a Fork recommendation, and loved it. We came back to Aix in September and booked Lou Mao again for a special occasion. There's genius in their offerings, beautiful delicious dishes based on fresh local ingredients. Make sure you leave room for their desserts! Absolutely recommended.

Nice little place. The prawn risotto was absolutely delicious, my veal dish was a little dry but still tasty. Service was friendly, although one young waitress could not help with the menu. Terrace was pretty and airy, chairs could have benefited from some padding / cushions. Good experience overall.

It’s in an upcoming square so we almost canceled our reservation but I’m so glad we didn’t because It was One of the best meals we had in France, and we ate at two Michelin Star restaurants there and this was just as good. This place was creative, delicious, welcoming, and fun. I highly recommend. It’s fairly new so take the opportunity to get in while you can because as more people discover this restaurant it will be booked up.
