+4Let’s be honest. Some Michelin star restaurants don’t deliver on their rating. Then there is the rare case of the place that not only meets but surpasses their rating with an otherworldly dining experience. That’s what my family and I felt after leaving Lucas & Chris in Colmar. A small yet well spaced room that’s both stylish and inviting, there is only one waitress but she commands the room with a conductor’s grace. The œuf parfait appetizer was thoroughly savored as our starter. The sea bass fillet was outstanding as was the Alsatian chicken and noodles plate. But the steak in red wine sauce with roasted vegetables and mash potatoes was the clear star for me. The excitement for dessert made us try each of the four offered. If you ever wanted to do that decadent choice, this was the place to do it. Chocolate molten cake, lemon meringue, crème brûlée, and, um, forgot the fourth. But all excellent. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re within a 100 miles of Colmar.

Wow! This restaurant is truly excellent. One of the best we‘ve been to. The service, ambiance & the food were great. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The food came within a reasonable time and was very delicious. The selection of the menu is quite small but the great quality makes up for it. Neither my partner nor I have any complaints. If we ever come back to Colmar we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again. We highly recommend it for any one in the area looking for an upscale restaurant with good food and a cozy ambiance. 10/10!

6.5/10The good: The restaurant is nice and the starter was very good and the desert was tasty. The service was efficient. To improve: The design of the low lamps in the restaurant is very uncomfortable and right in the face of the person sitting below it. The main course of beef fillet was served rear although it was requested to be well done. However, we didn't mention it as we didn't want to bother.

Nous sommes heureux d’apprendre que vous avez apprécié le cadre de l’établissement, l’entrée, le dessert ainsi que l’efficacité du service. Nous tenons à préciser que la décoration du restaurant a été intégralement pensée et conçue par un architecte, dans le but d’offrir une atmosphère élégante et harmonieuse. Nous prenons néanmoins bonne note de votre remarque concernant le confort lié aux luminaires. S’agissant de la cuisson du filet de bœuf, nous rappelons qu’en France, la viande de bœuf ne se consomme traditionnellement pas bien cuite, afin d’en préserver toutes les qualités gustatives. Lorsqu’on séjourne dans un pays, il est d’usage de s’adapter aux pratiques locales.

+1We had a lovely dinner at Lucas & Chris! The food was very delicious , well prepared and beautifully presented with delicious garnishes and sauces. Highlights were the “oeuf parfait” and the duck breast. The portions were generous. They also offer a nice selection of wines from the region at a reasonable price. Great quality/value proposition.

Nice restaurant with good food. It is a short walk from the city center. Most customers were locals and they were having the lunch menu, which was a good value. We ordered a la carte. The artichoke and butternut squash starters were great. The calve kidneys were also good.

10/10Cuisine - as expected from prior reviews - was perfect. A true balance of tastes, presentation, temperature and texture. For us the ambience works - but, to be honest, was surprised by a Michelin restaurant having such a relaxed manner and dress of the wait staff and the modest decor. And when one asks re the ‘fish of the day’ not expect “white” “not black” - and had no idea of what was being cooked. We didn’t order it! Only one waitress had modest English and the modest French I had made a difference. Other tables used Google! So speak French if you can. It is their country!

We had high expectations of Lucas & Chris which is always a bad idea, but our dining experience exceeded our expectations. We shared the artichoke appetizer. Simply fantastic. For our entrees we orders the lobster linguine, risotto and a veal chop. All three entrees were delicious. Highly recommend.

8/10Food was good, though the octopus was a bit salty and chewy. The pork, fish and beef were really good. The server was very nice but I think she was overburdened the night we were there as she was alone serving the whole room. I think in any other normal night, we would have had a better experience. So yes, I would still recommend this place.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. However, we would like to clarify a few things. Contrary to what you mentioned, our server was not overwhelmed that evening. She had to come to your table several times to fulfill multiple successive requests (ice cubes, then something else shortly after, etc.). Please understand that you were not the only guests in the restaurant, and quality service also means attending to all tables. We would also like to point out that having one server for 20 guests is perfectly adequate in our establishment. If you are looking for a more personalized service, perhaps a fine dining restaurant would better suit your expectations. Lastly, a quick note on manners: a simple “hello” and “goodbye” would have been appreciated, as unfortunately, that was not the case during your visit. We still wish you a good day.

Food, food and again food. Every dish was amazing. We tried roasted bone marrow, steak and risotto. Outstanding. Restaurant is simply decorated and small but the service is good and personable. Good selection of drinks. The food is top notch.

6.5/10Food was delicious. Chef was very friendly and nice. However, the waitress was very impatient and non-responsive to Asian customers. The chef told us that one of the desserts was free because the chocolate dessert was failed, but the waitress said no and insist to charge us despite our explanations.

First of all, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry about the dessert that was charged, even though I had told you it would be offered. This was a misunderstanding due to a lack of communication with the staff member in the dining room, who was not informed. I also offered you a refund via bank transfer the very next day by email. However, I cannot accept the accusation that our waitress displayed discriminatory behavior toward people of Asian descent. This is a serious and unfounded allegation. This young woman is currently learning English, and it is very likely that there was a misunderstanding between you and the staff at that time. Using the word “racism” in this context is not only unjustified, but extremely serious. We welcome many guests from Asia every year and have always had excellent relationships with them — we have never experienced a situation like this. Beef was delicious. Fish was a bit cold but delicious. Service was a bit chaotic, one server for 12 tables. Definitely gourmet, recommend shrimp appetizer and filet.

10/10Even though the restaurant is full, the lady service staff was full of energy and attended to all guest in a very composed manner. We took the set menu and the food was great. Portion was just sufficient and taste delicious. Chef Lucas was very gracious is helping us to get a taxi back to our hotel. The restaurant is not within the tourist area but it is worth visiting if you want to have good food and dining experience.

10/10What a fabulous night we had at Lucas & Chris. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming. The service was impeccable and the food was just stunning. It is slightly away from the tourist area and to be fair from the outside doesn’t look that great. But don’t let that put you off, once inside you are in a lovely little restaurant of the highest quality. If you want the perfect evening with perfect food served by great people look no further.

10/10Nice find off the beaten track, but still within walking distance to the city center and major hotels. Very good speaking server, who was extremely friendly and attentive. We had roasted pumpkin with burrata and the perfect egg as starters. Delicious. Main course where pike on sauerkraut and prawns with risotto. Perfect!!! We will definitely return if in town

Service is good, but price of food is bit overpriced. The vibe of restaurants is like a beer pub, not like fancy restaurants. Serving was great. Food was so so and very salty.

Bonjour , le restaurant est dans une ambiance décontractée si vous souhaitez quelques chose de plus coincé aller plutôt manger dans un restaurant étoilé de plus vous êtes le seul client sur les 300 que nous faisons par semaines à trouver nos plats trop salé vous avez certainement le palet flinguer par les 12 clopes que vous êtes sorti fumer. Merci de vous diriger vers un restaurant à hauteur de vos moyens car nos prix sont tout à fait adapter à la nourriture que nous proposons 100% maison . Mais du coup pour l’ambiance chic dur dur d’aller dans un étoilé si vous trouver nos plats déjà cher ….. Peut être un Mac do gastronomique ? Bonne continuation et j’espère à jamais .
