7/10Madre is a nice place in general. Great design of the space and good food. However the space is very noisy, since not enough sound insulating materials were used in the design. It was nearly impossible for us to have a conversation with 4 people at the table. Not all service stuff have seem professional - could be due to high workload or a lack of training. The four of us paid 180 EUR for the food, which essentially were 6 tapas to share and a dessert. So each plate cost more than 25 EUR - which is quite a steep price even for Amsterdam. It was also barely enough food to not leave hungry.

10/10We didn’t know that this is a vegan restaurant (or rather plant-based Mexican cuisine) until I realised that we had “chicken” tacos for starters ☺️, which was good because we’re kinda not that so into red meat as well. Food was good, service was excellent, staffs were super friendly and welcoming. They even gave an extra handful of tortilla chips when they saw we still had a few scoop of guacamole left in the bowl ????????????. Het echt super liefs van hun! Located on the less-touristy side of Amsterdam centrum so for us it was very nice. Parking now is €7 per hour????.

8/10Nice restaurant, a bit noisy but with a cozy atmosphere. Interesting vegan options for mexican food. Service has been really slow for what we ordered, I hope it has been a single wrong service and not the standard. I'll definitely try it again.
