Some of the dishes just missed (the lamb was too dry and too monotone in flavor, if flavor can have sound:) and others were great like the scallops (perfectly cooked).

Excellent food and service. The only negative is the ambiance, or lack of it. The room was brightly lit and had the overall feel of eating in a diner. Would go back but probably for lunch rather than dinner.

Such great food! Building on the traditions with some new twists. And the dessert was a surprise! Somewhere between a meringue and a marshmallow….delicious.

Fantastic Meal, outstanding well paced service and it is quite evident that the team behind it all are skilled, professional and care and take pride in what they are doing. It can be difficult for a popular and successful businesses frequented by tourists and locals alike), to stay at the top of their game (as people will generally show-up anyway). This is not an issue here. Make the reservation, show-up on time and enjoy a fantastic meal!

Excellent, both service and food. Aircondition could be a bit less cooling but ambiance was nice. I really recommend this place. Also the wine-suggestion matched perfectly with the dishes.

It was the last of 11 days in Lyon. A perfect view from our table of Fourvière! The food was outstanding. I wish I could have eaten more, but after 11 days of wonderful food, I just couldn't!

Excellent service - friendly and accommodating. Scallops and quenelle were outstanding, while the duck was good (a little tough). The Pavlova dessert was really good as well

We had a wonderful meal at La Mère Léa! Definitely the best meal we’ve had in France thus far. The flavors were so rich and delicious! Honestly, we’re debating whether to go back one more time before leaving. In addition, we were warmly greeted and they were so accommodating of our poor French. The ambiance is cozy but quite nice. Highly recommend!

spectacular view, conducive ambience, perfect service, fantastic fusion of traditional and novel styles in French cuisine--what more could we ask for? Made for a wonderful night I. this special city.

We did have great expectations, the food ( when it arrived) was good ( the duck filet was tender , the comté cheese flavored lentils superb), except for the totally disappointing desert ( slow cooked caramelized apple) which was almost tasteless. The service was friendly but extremely slow ( one hour between the order and the arrival of our first dishes), there must have been a party on the second floor or waiters/ cooks were absent?

Our first visit to Lyon and over 5 days, we dined here twice because the food was sublime! Every morsel was simply divine and flavourful, with wonderful customer service to match. An amazing and memorable experience, thank you La Mère Léa!

Charming service. Delicious food and a delightful setting. We came for the food but got a small education on Lyon and the Lyonnaise way of life as a bonus. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Go hungry and pace yourself!

Nice traditional restaurant in beautiful location but not overwhelming

This restaurant is wonderful. They specialize in Lyonnaise style food but they have more current and upscale items for clientele beyond the locals. Try the salmon and avocado tartare. The sauce with mint, lemon, green onions and cucumber was off the charts. The ice cream with Chartreuse dessert was also magnificent.

Very nice food, we would have liked to have been seated on the ground level.
