3.5/10Hi there, we arrived after booking a week before arriving in Cascais. We had been to the restaurant last year & loved the atmosphere & the food. This year, we were brought upstairs to an empty room at the top of the restaurant with zero atmosphere. Our waitress although efficient informed us immediately that we would have to have the table back by 8pm sharp ( our booking was 6.45) Ordering was very difficult and confusing. I didn’t find the waitress very helpful. The food itself was just okay, not as good as I have been here before we ordered guacamole and chips which were fine. The sweetcorn in a cup wasn’t very pleasant the tacos themselves we had a chicken with bacon was very average and the shrimp taco we had again was good, but not great. The white fish taco was the best, the Margarita spicy again wasn’t as nice as last year. We really wanted to like this restaurant after having such a great time last year, but unfortunately we found it disappointing.

Hi Ava, this is Pedro (the same owner from last year). Thank you very much for your feedback! I am very sad to know that you didn’t have a good time at our restaurante the second time around. We try our best to keep the standards of good service and food the same. I am sorry you didn’t find the help you wanted to choose your food. And regards with your reserve, I am sure there was a miscomunication between our staff: we never take reserves and give the client 1:15hr to eat. I will talk to our staff and see what happened. What I can asure you, is that the recipes from our older tacos and dishes didn’t change. We continue to do them, the same way, and with exactly the same fresh ingridents from the day we opened( same with the margaritas). I hope you give us another chance and visit us again and forgive us for having a bad day. Thank you very much for your helpful feedback!

5/10Nothing special, food is just ok, not the food you will order again. Dry, almost no spices, which is weird for mexican food. The only thing that saves this place is cocktails

10/10Delicious mexican food in a really atmosphearic part of cascais. No touristy attractions, just good authentic food. Ridiculously spicy chili sauce and very good well tought tacos. With appetizers you should have atleast 1-2 dishesh but without go with a three dishes. Lamb, tuna, scallops and shrimp was an absolute banger dishes! Especially lamb and shrimp are to die for. If you prefer crispy taco, go with a scallop. Good food, great service but please add "reserved" badges to the tables.

9/10A little issue with stools instead of chairs to start with. After that was resolved we had a great night. The service was great - it is run by a family and the kids get stuck in with helping with service (and they can sell!). The food is delicious and well priced. The cocktails also have a kick. Would highly recommend.

10/10Great restaurant, food fantastic, vibe is great be aware that the online booking isn’t live. Our confirmed online booking hadn’t been filtered through so had no info of our reservation and had to wait for a table.

10/10Our favorite restaurant while in Portugal! Drinks were excellent (Mango margaritas and Palomas). Everything was fresh and delicious, we especially loved the QUESADILLA DE CAMARÓN and TACO DE PESCADO. Say yes to the guac and Churros!! So good!

8/10The servers were very nice. I love that it’s a family business and there were adorable boys helping and bussing the tables. The food was tasty. The only thing that really put me off and the only reason I wouldn’t come back was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I went in twice. Once before and once after dinner. The trash was overflowing both times and there was no toilet paper. I was surrounded by dirty papers at my feet. It was really quite disgusting.

4/10Took 20 minutes to be served and then an hours wait for the food. Yes it was busy but for the basic food that it was, certainly shouldn’t have taken that long. No apology and had the audacity to expect a tip. Not sure how it’s got to trip advisors number one restaurant!

10/10Repeat visit. First one September’23 and happy to repeat July ‘24. Great place, food, atmosphere and lovely staff. Jug of margaritas and favourite tempura shrimp and shrimp ceviche outstanding. Will visit again next year for sure. Fun watching people queuing for Clandestina next door.

9.5/10Really good tacos and cocktails. Our favorites are the spicy mango margaritas, guacamole and Al Pastor tacos. Service is friendly and efficient. It gets crowded so a reservation for dinner is recommended.

6/10Portions were small for the price , bathroom was upstairs and like a sauna . Owner/ manager wasn’t friendly : never smiled and didn’t engage with customers . Server was nice , margarita was good , tacos and tostadas were okay .
