As chaotic as it gets, we had a reservation for dinner on weekend, We arrived on time and had to wait 15 min to be seated. The place was packed and clearly understaffed, only 2 staff were available and couldn't take care of that number of people. After waiting for another half an hour and not even getting a drink or menu on the table, we've decided to leave

A little overpriced. Everything else is very good. Food was nice. Staff was very friendly. We had a good night

Yummy hearty food. Wide selection of western African dishes with different protein sources. Was also not too spicy for European guests which was appreciated. Would go there again when being in this area.

great food, fun to experiance a unique cuisine. you have to flag down a waiter for a refill on drinks however but otherwise a great experiance!

One of the few restaurants where the host actually comes and have a friendly chat with you. The food was really good and reminded me of when I was in Africa on holiday.

We love coming here. The food was delicious and plentiful as always (we had jollof and red red), and the people are great.

Food was good with good quantity. I can just gove a bad judgement as a vegan, the food was good but do not deserve the 23euros that i paid only for beans and plantins. Same price than the meat. Otherwise nothing bad to tell.

We had to wait for an hour to be served, but they later apologized for this and explained that they had some logistics issues. In the end, the food was worth the wait.

Great to try some delicious African cuisine. Nice ambience and very welcoming team. They were happy to explain the dishes and to give advice on the menu.

We had a great dinner experience and received great service. Slightly overpriced. Fork deal makes it definitely worth it. The staff is very helpful and welcoming.

Very cozy place! You can feel the warmth of mama Esi in her food, it was my first time trying middle african food and I really liked it. Platano cake is delicious

If you want to taste an authentic African food, you've got to visit Mama Essi! Amazing food, but even more the service is so friendly and helpful. Nothing like a typical Dutch "service". I think I found my favourite restaurant in Rotterdam Zuid.
