10/10The staff were so friendly and helpful when asking for suggestions on the menu. The food was amazing and we sat at a wonderful table by the speakers in the corner of the terrace. It was a fabulous evening meal!

10/10Third time at Mar d’Estorias and hope to come back many more times. The food is exquisite, the service is excellent, the place is magical. I’m a Portuguese immigrant and this place always brings pride and happiness to my heart.

10/10This is the best place we have eaten whilst in Lagos. The team are amazing. Really genuine and kind people. Very efficient too. We really enjoyed talking to them. The food is equally high quality. We were a table of four and all agreed that it was the best food we had eaten in Lagos. The ambience is great too - has a special feel about it. Would highly recommend it.

What a hidden gem! The service was outstanding, with genuinely friendly staff who went the extra mile. Since it was a bit chilly, we were offered blankets — such a thoughtful touch. The food was exceptional. The octopus was perfectly cooked — tender, flavorful, and simply delicious. For dessert, I had the peanut truffles, and honestly, they were among the best desserts I’ve ever tasted. My children chose the cheeseburgers, and oh wow… I’m not usually a burger fan, but theirs were so good I’m tempted to return just for one. When we arrived, there was music playing, which added to the charm, but it became a little intermittent. A more consistent soundtrack would have boosted the atmosphere even further — though the food more than made up for it. A truly memorable dining experience — I’ll definitely be back!

10/10We had a really lovely evening at Mar d’Estórias in Lagos old town. The terrace is upstairs, above the shop, and it has a great atmosphere that feels private but still very central. The team were super friendly and welcoming, and they made a real effort to make sure we had a good time. The food was great too. Would happily go back and definitely recommend it.

6/10The food is an old warehouse, on the top terrace with the bottom floors being a shop for handcrafts. It's a peculiar and cool setting. The restaurant service was top, but the food very slow to be served. The problem is the retail servers were VERY RUDE and even disrespectful, and the problem is that you need to pass by them to access the washrooms. So an upscale restaurant locks the restrooms and you need to request a key on a huge keychain as if you're in a dodgy gas station. And then have to put up with these rude patrons. Unbelievable and definitely not worth the hassle or another visit and too bad, as the restaurant staff were 5*.

10/10Our evening was absolutely incredible! We planned this as a surprise for my mum’s 50th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it truly special—including leaving a thoughtful birthday note for her. Even though we arrived just as the kitchen was closing, the staff graciously waited for us and provided wonderful recommendations for food and wine. Everything was absolutely delicious! The entire experience was unforgettable, thanks to the warm and welcoming team. This will be a memory we cherish forever, and without a doubt, we’ll be returning when we’re back in Lagos. The restaurant’s unique concept with the shop, along with the beautiful decor, made the atmosphere even more special. A huge thank you to everyone for making this such a magical night!

10/10We loved every thing! Ordered a pitcher of white sangria, loved it! My husband and I both had the grilled pork, with seasoned fries and a side salad. Simple and very tasty. We both enjoyed it. For dessert we shared the peanut butter and banana with 3 small tasty peanut butter cups. Sooo good. Compliments to chef, bar tender and servers who took good care of us!

The waiters were super friendly and professional, the terrace is very pretty (bring warm clothes if windy😁 although they have blankets! 🙏🏼) and the food was reaaally good. So all in all a great experience!

10/10It was not our first time and it will definitely not be the last to Mar d‘Estorias. Food is always absolutely fresh and the service very friendly. In the cooler months you can sit inside and in the summer on the roof top terrace.

8.5/10It looks like a hidden secret place. Somehow hard to find but so delightful to discover. The service is very friendly, the food is good with some very nice Portuguese specialties. Cosy atmosphere. Just one comment: umbrella are not necessary. We would have loved to benefit from this rooftop to better view the city around and the wonderful night sky full of stars like there are in this summer season.

10/10Our visit was memorable because our waitress was OUTSTANDING!!! Catarina was personable and funny and my husband and I loved her and so did my kids. Out of 2 weeks in Portugal she was the best by far. That being said the food was also really good, the fish was fresh and yummy. Only down side was they ran out of a bunch of thins but I think its because we ate so late

3/10The waitress told us that the burger we wanted to order for our children was not available. The staff were extremely inflexible in accommodating us and offering something that would be suitable for younger guests. When we asked if they could serve the chicken fillet in a burger bun instead of in a salad, the answer was "No, the chicken is already mixed with the salad" (which we also find very strange for freshly prepared food). When we asked if the pork steak could be served in a burger bun instead of rustico bread, the answer was again negative, although the buns were available in another dish. Even a query to the kitchen did nothing to change this. I cannot understand this inflexibility. We left without ordering and looked for another, friendlier restaurant.
