8/10Great food and staff! I was there twice in one month with colleagues and everything was good! Would definitely recommend the goat cheese with cranberry sauce (everything is good in fact!).

10/10The warm welcome and goodbye were so heartwarming. The food was excellent, beautifully plated and so mouthwatering. This restaurant definitely deserves the five star rating! Don’t miss this when in Lisbon!!

4/10We chose this restaurant because of its good rating. But our experience was the opposite. The servers welcome you with some starters including bread, butter and an octopus salad. Then they give you the menu... When the bill came, there's approximately 15€ charge for the above mentioned starters that you didn't order. We find it dishonest. Never had such experience anywhere else. Maybe they only do it to tourists, not the locals, to explain their good rating.

7/10Staff trying to oversell starters, drinks and port wine. Staff want to speak English despite our efforts trying to speak Portugese language. We where 4 guests, two of us living in Portugal, and we are not from North America.

10/10The food is outstanding. The seafood is fresh and flavorful. The service is wonderful. The staff is very helpful and a lot of fun. So close to the museum. We had dinner before the opera. We will be back!

9.5/10Food was fresh & delicious. We had seafood carpaccio, grilled octopus & seafood risotto. The waitstaff was helpful & did not rush us. They were very friendly. We even received a free taste of port at the end of the meal. The restaurant is in a quiet neighborhood outside of Lisbon city center, but it’s worth the metro ride & short walk.

10/10I had the pleasure of dining her with my mum, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The food was outstanding, fish dishes delighted our taste buds. The white wine recommended to us was a perfect choice, perfectly complementing our dishes. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, making our evening even more enjoyable. A truly special moment was when the chef personally came out to introduce himself and ask if we had enjoyed our meal. A classy touch that made the experience even more memorable. highly recommend Maria Peixaria to anyone looking to enjoy delicious fish dishes in a welcoming atmosphere with impeccable service. I can't wait to return!

10/10Nice restaurant,not far away from downtown of Lisboa,they are dealing especially with fish and sea food.Rissoto with octopus and shrimps was like I am being guest on wedding in fairy tale.Guy who serves us is top professional,always got good suggestion in terms of wine and food!Well done.

10/10Two Americans in Lisbon for the first time. The staff made us feel so comfortable and welcome. They helped us order and made great recommendations. The octopus was the best we have tasted and dessert was fabulous. Would definitely recommend. This is also not in a busy area, so you don’t have to be too stressed by crowds. There’s other businesses around too that we visited and enjoyed. Overrall just a wonderful experience.

10/10Ah, stepping into Maria Peixeira after a long flight felt like a warm embrace. Greeted with genuine hospitality, they whisked away the fatigue of a 16-hour journey. Surprisingly, I found myself comfortably seated even before the appointed time, savoring the anticipation of a culinary journey. The menu unfolded like a love letter to the sea. The octopus salad danced with freshness, the basil butter hinted at herbaceous perfection, and the oysters and razor clams sang the symphony of the ocean. The special cod was a revelation, a testament to the chef's artistry. To complement the maritime feast, I indulged in vinho verde, a lively companion, and a white wine from Alentejo, transporting me to the sun-kissed vineyards of Portugal. Saving the best for last, Grandma's creme brulée was a sweet embrace of tradition and indulgence. Each spoonful revealed layers of creamy nostalgia, concluding the meal on a high note. A special nod to Alex and Ricardo and the team who orchestrated this culinary masterpiece on a Sunday evening, going above and beyond to make my first meal in Portugal an absolute delight. Maria Peixeira, where every bite tells a story and every sip feels like a celebration.

10/10The food and the service, everything was excellent! Probably the best octopus, I've eaten in Portugal! The dishes are prepared with originality and taste great! The waiters were extremely nice, with extra care and sense of humor. Will go there again!

9/10Traveling to Portugal for a much needed vacation, this restaurant was recommended to us. It was a short walk from our hotel. We went. The service was good. Very attentive. The atmosphere was good and quality of food was good and tasty. If I had to say something that needed more attention was my fries. I had a NY cut steak and it was tasty and hot. The fries on the other hand were less than room temperature and I would have liked them to be hot. Other than that everything was spot on delicious.
