Excellent service and foods was so good
5.5
Very disappointing experience. Neither Michelin quality food or service. I ordered my steak well done and it came out rare. After sending it back and waiting another 15th minutes, my fries were cold. Not even offered a replacement. Also, had to ask twice for my salad. After finally receiving what I ordered, my companion had finished their meal. We were forgotten and eventually had to go to the kitchen to ask for dessert menus ourselves. After choosing, the waiter arrives 15 minutes later to inform us they were out. Price did not justify the quality.

Excellent food at fair prices. The service, given the level of the restaurant, could be improved—otherwise, it would have been a five-star experience. The starters are outstanding, and the Seabass rice is an absolute must-try. The dessert selection is also impressive

Everything! The waiting staff were very helpful, for example suggesting the Gran Reserva at only €4 more than the basic red! The food was very well prepared and so reasonably priced. €82 for 2 [2 courses and 2 bottles of wine included] was very good value, just as you would expect from a Bib Gourmand!

Amazing service and an amazing food. Just go for it!!

Marques is rated as a bib gourmand in Michelin's guide. It should not even be on Michelin's guide, and my husband & I were sorely disappointed in Michelin's misguidance on this tired, outdated, and awful food served!! I ordered a vegetable soup with cream--there was no cream, but a watered-down bland orange soup. Also wanted veal ossobuco with rice--not available. So the waiter talked me into a "really good dish" of veal with mushroom sauce. It was the most overcooked pieces of veal I've ever had (ate 1 out of 3 pieces) with just several mushrooms in a brown sauce; also so bland we asked for salt & pepper. It was served with bland french fries and a decent rice bowl. My husband came especially for their baby goat dish--you have to wait an hour if you want this, so my husband ordered the cod fish with gratin potatoes...nothing to write home about. We've been in Portugal for 3 wk. and this was, by far, the worst meal we've had. We spent a bundle on Uber to get here from Coimbra too! UGH!

The food was amazing, we had a few different types of meat mains and everything was perfectly seasoned and tender

A true symbol of Bairrada and its people's spirit! Never disappoints!

I had the Bacalhau and it was good. Nothing special from a michelin star restaurant.

What a special place! The food is refined, yet still traditional, Portuguese, and the private label wine enhances each bite. Pleasant service and a charming atmosphere round out the memorable experience of dining in this gem of a restaurant.

Really well made traditional Portuguese cuisine. Quiet environment. Staff is very competent and nice. The wine cart is sufficient, very strong in Portuguese Bairrada wines, and not too expensive. Degustation menu is cheap for a one Michelin star restaurant. Not pretentious at all, which is a plus.

This restaurant has operated during at least 40 years, but is still maintaining an excellent level in a building that from the outside does not look very impressive but inside is very tastefully decorated. Very good traditional Portuguese food served by experienced personnel.

Great restaurant with great food. Everything was so delicious and the house wine was superb. Only negative thing was the lighting (it was little too bright) but overall my wife and I had a great meal

A gem ! I last visited the restaurant when it opened, when I was a child. Almost 40 years later, it still keeps the old approach, with amazing quality and imaculate service. Very well done. Won't take so long to go back! Congratulations.
