10/10Friendly service, great food and an amazing view of all Rome. The chef is really creative and competent in making vegetarian taste great. These chefs did it right in the land of carnivores. All over Italy I was being offered risotto as the vegetarian option. This menu was a welcome surprise to find in Rome. Highly recommended

8/10The ambience and service were amazing. Sadly, our expectations of the food fell short. The food wasn’t bad, it just didn’t blow our minds when we were expecting it to considering the Michelin rating. The truffle risotto was way too rich/heavy and too large of a portion. Would have been much better suited as a smaller appetizer. The Roman stuffed focaccia was tasty but became soggy very quickly due to how it was prepared. The chickpea fritter main felt like it was missing something to round out the flavors. Overall, I would probably come back here for a drink and snack on the rooftop, but not for a full meal.

10/10Let me tell you the porcini and truffle risotto will ruin you for life. It has to be one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life - to die for!

4/10We chose the full degustation menu for 160 euro without wine. It was completely unninspired food, lacking innovation and largely flavoured through different renditions of parmesan cheese. The food did not celebrate the beauty of vegetables or show any creative edge. The service was old fashioned and out of touch. My daughter took me to this dinner as a gift but the waiter did not address her at all during the meal, explaining dishes only to me, checking in only with me and finally presenting me with the bill! How this made the Michelen guide is anyone's guess, perhaps the rooftop view? A very expensive disappointment, cannot recommend this to vegetarians, it will make you sad.

10/10First of all, the location and view from the rooftop are exceptional. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Not normally a vegetarian, or even someone who seeks out vegetables, we were a little nervous about the menu. We opted for one of the tasting menus with the wine pairing and it was amazing. Overall, a great experience!

2/10Michelin Mediocrity Food - BAD! There’s nothing gourmet / Michelin about the food. At best, mediocre vegetarian food. The flavours are not balanced, the ingredients don’t feel fresh, the plating is bland…. (could go on) Ambience - endless flies (that are always in your food and drinks) + seagulls trying to steal your food + absolutely no views Service - doesn’t exist, self service might have worked better Prices - let’s not even go there

6/10We booked this restaurant based on the Michelin rating and innovative vegan menu. Some of the food met our expectations and some dimply did not. But the very poor, even indifferent service, soured the entire experience. After serving the first course, literally the entire wait staff simply disappeared. After waiting 45 minutes isolated on the upstairs patio I went downstairs and found the entire wait staff chit chatting around the bar. Our second course was finally brought, with absolutely no apology or even acknowledgement that the poor service even occurred. This poor level of service might be expected at a one star cafe, but not at a fine restaurant in a Michelin hotel.

10/10I have now been to Mater Terrae twice. Very simply, this means that two of the best meals of my life have been there. The service, atmosphere, food, and wine are simply unbeatable. The "Unbearable Lightness of Being" - a celebration of the very spirit of artichoke - deserves its own Michelin star. "A Touch of Gold" makes me thankful for the existence of pumpkins. Each taste was exquisite, each glass of wine perfectly paired. The waiters were gracious and thoughtful, and the sommelier's enthusiasm and expertise were infectious. I will be back.

9/10Really enjoyed dinner. The staff were engaging to speak to and the views were amazing. I do think a couple of dishes need some refinement, though. The chestnut bean soup starter was unbalanced and the tart tatin dessert was overwhelming sweet to the point that I was scraping every bit of ice cream from the plate to bring down the sweetness, which is an odd thing to have to say.

9.5/10The staff was really friendly and the tasting menu for valentines day was amazing. The only issue me and my wife had is we were on the terrace and we were the only ones without a heater and it was a cold night. Aside from that the rest of the experience was great.

10/10The most scenic, romantic perfect spot. Wonderful view of the city on the terrace. Has outdoor heaters and blankets so you can enjoy the terrace. The service is excellent. The staff really care about the food and feedback. Food is exquisite. As a nonvegan/nonvegetarian me and my fiancée both thoroughly enjoyed every item in the menu. The staff were also kind enough to offer several complimentary items all of which were wonderful. Would highly recommend this place for any sort of a celebration. Deserves its spot in the Michelin guide.

10/10We’ve been to a fair few Michelin star restaurants from one to three stars. But Mater Terrae was one of the best Michelin experiences we’ve had. An amazing warm welcome began an unforgettable meal in the beautiful city of Rome. Amazing views across the city from the rooftop. Moving to inside to commence the tasting menu with another panoramic view from a wide window. Amazing service, delicious food, lucky weather and amazing cookery from the kitchen brigade made this little restaurant memorable and one on our list to visit many more times in the future.
