Our first night out when revisiting Reggio Emilio after two months away was at Matilde Bistrot. There are many excellent restaurants in Reggio and we have enjoyed meals at several. But, Matilde Bistrot has become our favorite. Maurizio, the Proprietor, and his Waitstaff are always welcoming. The service has been excellent every time and the restaurant seems quiet and intimate even when the relatively small place is full. The menu always contains unique and interesting dishes. The wine list is not overwhelmingly extensive but still contains a varied and affordably priced selection, including very drinkable young wines. Matilde is a great choice for lunch or dinner as a couple or a family.

For my wife and I, visitors to Reggio Emilia, this was our second time at Matilde Bistrot in less than two weeks. Our first meal was outstanding but this time surpassed that! The menu is limited which to us declares “freshness!” Each of the offerings, however, is prepared with a good degree of creativity. The service and attentiveness were exemplary as were the wine choices. We will miss being able to dine at Matilde Bistrot when we return to our home in Umbria.

In recent years, I have come to rely on The Fork’s ratings on restaurants and the reviews by the App’s users. Matilde Bistro was listed as a top restaurant in Reggio Emilio and, based on that and the fact that it was only a 5-minute walk from our BnB, my wife and I made a reservation for lunch. Matilde Bistro exceeded all of our expectations. The interior was elegant and intimate. Though the restaurant was filled with patrons at lunch, it was surprisingly quiet. Maurizio and his Staff provided unobtrusively attentive and great service. The food was delicious as well as beautifully presented. The cost for Starters, Main dishes and a very good bottle of a locally-produced Sangiovese was moderate. We were very pleased and look forward to returning, next time for dinner.

the place is in City centre. very nice decor. Amazing food, traditional and vegetarian options were both amazing. fantastic dessert.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The lasagna, truffle pasta and rice dish were wonderful. Great service, wine and ambiance.

It's a nice place in Reggio Emilia. I've been this restaurant for several times, it's one of my favorite place for my each business trip here. The restaurant is very cool and clean, the guys there are also nice and good english-speaking, it's very important for me :), the chips are fantastic, I love it! Plus the burger is very juicy! Anyway, it's a 5 star restaurant for recommendation!!!

Amazing spot with helpful staff and unique menu for the area. Antipasti, burgers, pasta, and steak were all delicious. Even went back a second time before we left Reggio.

Very good main dishes and authentic local antipasti. Staff were very helpful and wines were very good too! Restaurant is in a quiet little alley but easy to find
