My fourth meal here this trip, I was no longer staying in the hotel, but I had to return for the cataplana, and was very glad I did. Thanks to Pedro my waiter for suggesting the dry white wine from Madeira Porto Santo, not well known but a perfect match.

We had our anniversary dinner here, and enjoyed the experience very much. All of our servers were very friendly, including David and both Pedros. The food was lovely. Thank you very much, would recommend to others celebrating special occasions.

We had dinner at Matiz as a group of five friends! The service was excellent and thanks to Pedro was cheerful as well! I had the besque of lobster ravioli as a starter and the sea bass as main course and they were both tasteful! My friends actually didn’t like their main course and that partly ruined the night! The Fork’s 30% discount was highly appreciated.

The food was amazing and servers were professional and kind! I’m not a fan of lamb but still tried my son’s and it was delicious. Everything from the bread, butter and olive oil to desserts were outstanding! Restaurant is beautiful and well located. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing service at the restaurant from David! Product knowledge,recommendations,service and customer skills at very best level. Foods are delicious and well detailed. Also want to mention at the bar manager Paolos service! Kindness, attentiveness on perfect level. These two gentleman made our evening/night also my girlfriend birthday celebration to unforgettable! We had a wonderful evening in the Matiz Liboa. Victor looked after us excellently with great elegance, overview and charm. Compliments. The food was absolutely excellent, bold in taste and beautifully presented. The sea bass in the black salt crust was very juicy and filleted and presented wonderfully by Kamara. This is an AWFUL place! My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary. I was wearing a beautiful dress that I had brought from London. It took me 2 hours to make myself look pretty. My husband, in the other hand, was very simply dressed. However, the waiter decided that it was my husband’s birthday, which it was not, and brought him a very nice cake with decorations and a candle. I felt so humiliated, because it was our wedding anniversary for which I bought a new dress!!! An awful shame!

My lunch at Matiz Lisboa was fantastic. The service was friendly and fast but the star however was the food. Every item from my 3 course meal was delicious! The prawn starter was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the Portuguese steak melt in your mouth and the chocolate cake dessert was a perfect ending.
