6/10Meet and greet could have been better. Huge restaurant but were seated on a table outside despite having booked. Sea bass good. Nice to have potatoes and vegetables but vegetables rock hard. Lastly vastly overpriced.

10/10l liked that I was able to make a booking in the afternoon after many other restaurants are closed. We were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. 👍🏽

8.5/10Local restaurant from my mums took her out for dinner, menu choice good for adults not so good for children but I understand it’s local and it’s Portugal, but lovely meal and service was okay, great cocktails

4.5/10booked a table for 8 pm, had to ask for drinks order to be taken, had to ask to be seated, 8.45pm, main course did not arrive until after 10.15 pm. waiter dropped lemon for starter and said would replace, didn't, had to ask for mint sauce, left so disappointed as have been here before and it was wonderful. not enough staff, and staff that were there seemed to favour certain tables, definitely not ours. we are so disappointed and feel let down after promising our family a special night out. it was anything but.

8/10Very pleasant welcome, very pleasant staff, food was very nice. The service however was somewhat slow, it took a while for drinks etc to arrive and the food portions were a little on the light side.

9.5/10as usual, amazing food, great service. Only downsides was it was very quiet with it being the first Sunday opening of the season. Will go back time after time. Just a great place to eat and enjoy situated off the beaten track.

10/10My family and I have been going to Mato a Vista for over 25 years. It is one of my favourite restaurants in the whole world. The food is fabulous and all served in a wonderful place by friendly staff. Do not miss this great place.

9/10We were celebrating our elderly aunt birthday . The staff ensured the food provided was excelente along with drinks and dessert. The staff are extremely courteous and professional and made the occasion really special .

8.5/10We went for a summer family lunch and it was very hot. The food and the service were really good. The only horrible aspect was that they currently don't have the Air Conditioning and it was uncomfortable. This is something they should repair asap. This is just a note for the amazing wine cellar they have where you can buy an amazing bottle of wine to drink in the restaurant or bring home. For sure we will return on a fresher weather day.

10/10first class service and food. we have been travelling to Portugal for over 30 years and we are ashamed to say this is our first visit to mato a vista. we will visit again and again. what a great place to be. you are made so welcome, the staff are attentive but not overly so and the food is quality. wine and fish selection second to none. Best meal we've had in portugal. 👏👏👏

9/10We came here as our final night on our trip to the Algarve and was extremely impressed! As soon as we walked in we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and was seated in the most beautiful garden surrounded by nature, the perfect setting for a very nice meal! The wines here were also amazing and were paired perfectly by the waiting staff!

5.5/10For the so called “fame” it is a bit far away of the quality and service expected. Ex: wine by the glass only one option. We also had the sensation that they want to sell you / impose some of the dishes being almost upset when you ask for your own stuff without accepting their suggestions.

Em relação á comida, nem percebo o que aconteceu, pois apenas o que fazemos é a apresentação da nossa montra de peixe, como fazemos a todos os nossos outros clientes, garantidamente não temos preferência em vender algum produto. vamos tentar apurar com o nosso staff o que pode ter acontecido. 9/10Quite an out of the way place, but easy parking. Service was a bit slow, but otherwise good. Food was excellent, especially the peixinhos da horta, the magret of duck, and the carob and lime tart, and all beautifully presented. Liked the real candles and the dried flower table arrangements, plus cloth napkins. Music was very good, too.

10/10I’ve had several lamb stews in the Algarve this was by far the best for presentation and flavors/taste obviously made with love from a family recipe. Staff were very attentive but not over bearing, first class experience.

10/10This restaurant is hidden away but so glad we made the journey. Beautiful setting, really relaxed and very attentive staff. Food was divine! Highly recommend.
