4.5/10I chose this restaurant for a birthday evening based on the many positive reviews, which makes my disappointment even greater. The service and presentation were beautiful – elegant tableware and very kind, professional staff. But the food was far below expectations. The pasta with cheese sauce was so average I didn’t even want to finish it. The only truly good dish was the octopus. I really tried to find something to appreciate in the food – especially since we travel a lot, eat at various restaurants around the world, and this isn’t my first Michelin-rated place. But it is the first one that left me this disappointed. To make things worse, family with a large dog was seated right next to us. While I’m not against dogs in general, it felt out of place in a restaurant that claims Michelin-level standards. Sadly, this was not the special experience I was hoping for.

Finding Meraviglioso was a “happy accident” we will always remember! Visiting Polignano a Mare for the first time in early February, we knew it attracts a lot of tourists but our experience in Italy in the winter has been that most places are closed, especially on a Monday. We found it listed on The Fork with a Michelin Rating and on a whim reached out for a reservation and got one for lunch! From the moment we walked in, we felt totally welcome and cared for in a non-ostentatious way. The service is truly impeccable; the food presentation is creative and gorgeous; the recipes are divine and unique; and the entire experience is one of our favorite restaurant experiences ever in all of our travels. We will definitely return and hope to bring friends and family when they visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

10/10This unpretentious restaurant has the quality of service, attention to detail and quality of food that one only finds in the finest of restaurants. Nothing is too much when it comes to comfort of the guests. The star of the occasion was without exception the food. From the amuse to the tuna starter, the local red prawns on ice or the octopus with nduja and my favourite the fusilli with cuttlefish, the sauce was divine, I wanted to lick the bowl. Desserts were a joy, choux pasty and figs and the amuse desserts just finished the meal perfectly. I went with a new wine for me, Rampone, full on white wine with a delicious deep yellow colour and packed with flavour. I hope to return again and soon

5.5/10None of us were overly impressed with the food. we went because it was rated a Michelin star restaurant. I had the baklava which I felt to be too salty. We did have fantastic oysters from France. Also, prices were very high for the quality of the food.

We waited more than 1 hour for spaghetti and orecchiette. When we finally got them - after a few reminders- the pasta were not even al dente. Very disappointing.

10/10Wonderful. Beautiful view. Food was not the usual unimaginative tourist fare. Well prepared and nicely served. Lovely table settings and serving pieces. Portions possibly a little small but for we four visitors it was an adequate lunch. Very pleased.

Today for lunch, we had the pleasure of dining at Meraviglioso, and it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of the meal was the orange wine recommended by our server—it was fantastic, possibly the best we've ever had. Its complexity perfectly complemented each dish. The octopus with potato was easily the best dish of the meal. Tender and charred to perfection, it paired wonderfully with the creamy potatoes. The fish carpaccio was another standout—clean, fresh, and light. The pasta dish, though well-prepared, was our least favorite and didn’t quite stand out as much as the rest. On the other hand, the lamb main was sublime, perfectly balancing flavors and textures. Overall, an outstanding meal with incredible food and excellent service. Highly recommended!

8/10Food was delicious. We only had one dish that we thought could have been better. Service was very slow we had to grab a waiter numerous times after waiting for so long, service was also not incredibly warm. I still recommend.

5/10The pasta was very good, but I had the fish for my main meal and it was very fishy tasting. I couldn’t have more than one bite. The servers did not ask me if I liked it and they took away the plate completely untouched and never said a thing about it. My friend had the steak and enjoyed it. I would not go back. The bathroom door didn’t lock and It looks very dirty and unkept for a nice restaurant.

7.5/10The food was excellent however, the service was very poor. It lacks the attention one expects of such a level of restaurant. The waiter even mixed up the desssert. I did not complain but frankly I was gob struck. The setting is fine for a scenic town as Poligniano but nothing spectacular. The interior is very nice and clean, however the service needs to compliment the positive attributes. I was expecting more.

8.5/10Great location and food however, the staff were less than I expected at the restaurant. We needed to ask twice for a wine menu and only received it when the starters arrived. We were charged for 2 bottles of water when we had only 1 and had a very disgruntled response when queried. The food was absolutely amazing and the wine was great when we received it but I left feeling unsure if I would recommend to friends and family.

Ambiance/location is great especially when the sun goes down and you can enjoy the terrace with a nice breeze. We were several people and food was a hit or miss. Look was very good on all dishes, very Insta worthy. Some dishes were extremely refined and good (Red Snaper), other dishes were quite disappointing like the Amberjack fish (waitress said it was grilled when it actually seemed it was steamed). Tiramisu was a major disappointment, whipped cream.... and you can barely feel any coffee to counter the sweetness of the mascarpone. From a service standpoint, most staff was very nice and with a smile which is what you would expect from a place trying to up their game, but one waitress in particular always had an unhappy face which conveys a negative vibe on the overall experience. The most disappointed thing is they force you to take 2 dishes, so although each dish is priced in the 25-28E range, by the time you add 2 of them plus a 5E silverware cost it adds up quickly...

10/10Wonderful birthday dinner right on the Volare piazza with water view! Excellent service and recommendations. I chose the grilled octopus and tuna parmigiana appetizers and both were amazing! The orrichette and snapper were perfect! Their wine selections were from local vinyards that cannot be purchased elsewhere which was lovely! Prices were very comparable with other restaurants. Worth the Michelin rating!

8.5/10The food was really good. The recomendation of the waitor for wine was so-so. The service was slow and didn`t match the Michelin catalogue by my personal oppinion. It wasn`t that crowded with a lot of free tables outside and nothing occupied inside. For me it was a normal place to dine in but nothing special.

6.5/10The service was very slow. Afrer 15 min the waiter came to take our order. They imposed the food. ,2 dishes per person at least. I ve been to many michelin restaurants and always ordered what I I wanted. No wine list. I had to ask for it . The waiter came and left me the ipad. Never came back after a while. The wine was warm. I did not rejected. Too complicated . It was 30 minutes after we arrived. The most important issue was that the waiter said it was because the fridge was not working because of the hot weather. False. All of them were perfectly functioning. They just underestimated a 35 € wine and leave it on a shelf. Then he tried to improve his lie saying that they put the wine on the fridge one hour ahead. Ahead of what?? Unfriendly and arrogant men staff. Dinner was good. To pay the check I had to call them twice. They just wonder around. Meriviglioso is not the word for such mediocre service and even worse it is Michelin guide 2004. How did they won the award?

5.5/10First of all, early dining at 8 and maybe 15-20% seated. The server tended to locals who were sat after us, and they had drinks and apps before we had ordered drinks. Another couple got tired of waiting and left pre drink order. We had asked for our check 5 times over a 15-20 min period and the staff nodded but did nothing. Finally we walked towards the door and we didn’t want to leave without paying so we told the host who was confused. The server rudely rang us up without apologizing, and we darted out. Stay away from that place. Not worth it.

10/10What a lovely way to celebrate our weekend in Polignano a Mare. Overlooking the sea, you can feel the cool breeze and enjoy the beautiful views. The menu here is creative and delicious. While the portions are a bit small, the chef’s delicious sauces enhance each entree. This restaurant is a special treat.

4.5/10Potentially great restaurant - stunning location and very popular - spoilt by a few details; specifically, the carpaccio was over-salted, the tubetto pasta was undercooked, the calamari was served warm rather than hot (and the tomatoes served with it were cold) but this wasn’t mentioned beforehand, and our waitress was surly and unfriendly

10/10We had a wonderful dinner for 4 people outside. The variations on local seafood were excellent, ranging from mussels to spaghetto with sea urchin. The recommended wine selections were excellent as well.
