Excellent food with a great vibe and ambiance. This is a place to relax and enjoy the experience, we loved the 6-course set menu; the flavors, presentation, and portions were fantastic! A few small suggestions: service felt stretched on a busy night, so attention was sometimes hard to get. The paper used for the set menu didn’t match the otherwise refined setting. Also, the two-seater tables on the left were very close together while other seating areas were empty, spacing could be improved. Overall, none of this took away from a wonderful three-hour dinner.

The edamame was delicious and a huge bowl of it!! We had 4X this.. (my son loves it!!) and the crispy fried chicken appetizer was also a favorite (we got it 2x!) and the fat belly tuna and salmon nigiri was delicious… the wagyu beef gyoza was also great! We were a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the wine we selected nor the chicken dumplings anymore on the menu, but these things happen. The inside as recent renovated to be more “upscale” which doesn’t at all match the exterior so it felt fancy inside while we simply wanted relaxed. Overall we enjoyed and will return for sure.

food was good, service was ok but nothing special, the guy was rushing around and rushing us when ordering and it was difficult to make a choice. he forgot to come back and take the order for the drinks.

Been to Michiu many times, the best Asian resturant in the Netherlands, yes mark my words. It's also very special for me, that my boyfriend and I went on to our 2nd date here, and kept going strong over the year, and been to Michiu many times together as a couple. Always snacks, great memory to our liking & nonliking regarding food and drinks, and always fun&caring! ((：

I wish we'd found this restaurant sooner -- we would have returned! We had the Peking duck crepes (about the best duck I've ever eaten) and the crispy pork Large-ish servings, but we couldn't stop.

The food was ok. However we had to wait for 1,5 hrs to get the starters. When we asked a few times when the food was coming, we got a grumpy face and a short answer. As well with the menu, if we asked anything they would react moody. It was like they didn’t want to help at all. You could feel that the atmosphere was tense, other tables were not content as well. In summary, it was an overpriced restaurant with really dissapointing service.

Overall is good, love all the special maki rolls we had but please spare your time to wait for food quite a bit.

We ordered a tasting menu and we got to try Japanese and Chinese dishes. The portion is good. Friendly service. We went on a Thursday evening so the restaurant wasn't as busy. That was nice and quiet. The staff also had some time to chat with us. Highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or with a group of friends or family.

Good Japanese fusion style food. Between us 2 we had a lovely rage of flavours. Service needs a bit improvement and we didn't like that when served spicy food one has to buy water.

Michiu is an excellent fusion restaurant in the 'rivers' neighbourhood in Amsterdam, with all street names related to (Dutch) rivers large and small. It was very nice to be back in the neighbourhood where I grew up and as can be expected lots had changed, such as a very nice restaurant as Michiu. Most of the dishes are Japanese oriented and we had excellent Dragon roll (sushi), salmon teppanyaki, steamed turbot filet and also teppanyaki duck filet. All were excellent. Also the service was very good. Affordable on street parking is available about 3 min walk (to the South) from the restaurant (free after 21:00). Note: in front of the restaurant you need to pay until 24:00.
