Had a mixed experience overall. The concept and experience are clearly the main strengths of the place. It leans into a hands-on seafood dining style that feels different from the more traditional restaurants in Barcelona. The staff were a highlight—very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout, which made the evening more enjoyable. However, the food itself was less convincing. We started with lobster croquettes and calamari; both were average in flavor and presentation, nothing particularly memorable. For the main, we shared the Premium Mix (a seafood stew with lobster, sea ox, cuttlefish, scallops, clams, prawns, mussels, corn, and potatoes). The ingredients were fresh, but the base lacked depth. We chose a garlic and butter profile, but neither flavor came through clearly, leaving the dish somewhat bland. The setting is also something to be aware of. The restaurant is located below street level and feels quite cramped, with roughly 10–12 tables. Not a place we would return to.

We visited this restaurant while we were in Barcelona, and everything was truly amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was excellent. There was a lady who served us — unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but when we told her that we were Turkish, she mentioned that she was Bulgarian. She was incredibly warm, sweet, and kind. She was very polite, and we would especially like to thank her for her kindness. We were very happy to have met her. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything was very fresh. We especially loved the homemade lemonade — it was amazing and definitely worth trying. Everything was perfect. Thank you very much!

Service was great, nice atmosphere but the seafood platter was very disappointing. The lobster was small and overcooked. We onky had one small scallop between 2 and the mussels were tiny. Prawns were tasty though. For €120 I expected a lot better.

The two gentlemen who attended to me, Leo and Philip were just as helpful as one could hope for when dining alone. They gave great recommendations! Would recommend to anyone who wants great food and even better service!

Excellent seafood place. Enjoyed the breaded shrimp starter and main seafood rice. Not cheap but not too bad and really enjoyed what we had and worth it, Lovely and efficient waiter. Definitely recommended.

From the moment we walked in, the welcoming ambiance and the friendly staff made us feel right at home. The highlights of the meal were undoubtedly the sea food Mix which was deliciously filled with a blend of flavors. The grilled fish was incredibly fresh, showcasing the quality of the ingredients they use. What I appreciated most was the menu, filled with a variety of seafood options, catered to both locals and tourists alike, making it a vibrant place to dine. If you’re in Barcelona and a fan of seafood, Monte Marinero is an absolute must-visit! I can’t wait to return on my next visit to this beautiful city.

Only in Barcelona 24 hours while traveling, found this restaurant via a Google Maps search. 1.3 mile walk from the hotel, was worth every step. Great food and service, had a wonderful dinner.

Should have picked the other shellfish restaurant around the corner. Warm soupy crab isn't a concept that really works. No locals in evidence for a reason

Unexpectedly, we made the reservation during our stay in Barcelona. You would not imagine where to find the restaurant but when you are inside, the place and team is friendly. And on top of that, the food is delicious and well served. It has been the highlight of our stay. Gracias

Fantastic Spot. Diego and Leo really looked after us and the food was scrumptious. My mum ate every grain of rice and I scooped up every bit of the seafood boil gravy. We will definitely be back!

Large portions, unique spices, the best seafood we have ever eaten in our lives. The restaurant is new but it doesn't show it because the cuisine and service are at a very high level in terms of professionalism and attention to detail. We felt very comfortable and plan to visit it again during our stay in Barcelona. I advise you not to miss visiting Monte Marinero. I wish this restaurant to blow away the competition and expand to leave more and more people satisfied and happy.
