10/10Wonderful traditional Portuguese cuisine at an unbelievable price. I don't know how they do it. Attentive and friendly staff, quick service, excellent house red, very pleasant atmosphere. The perfect place for lunch!

10/10The restaurant is a hidden gem a few kilometres from Albufeira town. The food is incredible, traditional Portuguese all freshly made. We were a party of 10 and everything we had was perfect. The service is exceptional. I would recommend booking as it is very busy. 10/10 from us

9/10We really enjoyed our lunch at O Barril. Every day they offer two choices of the meal of the day. Today, it was grilled pork or cuttlefish. I opted for the pork and it was excellent. The other 3 diners chose from the menu and had Salmon, Sea Bass and chicken. The bill for the for of us was €56. So we added a small tip and paid €63. We will return there soon.

It cannot impress at a first glance. The real thing happens when the food arrives to the table. The “petiscos”, what in Portuguese are called to small portions of very typical food, are the greatest, really remind the food made by our grandmothers. Good portions served very carefully and good looking manner. We have tried also a meat dish, very well served and really tasty. You will be able to also find a variety of particular deserts. A great value for money restaurante, where you will be able to find real portuguese food.
