It's a small restaurant down a small alley off the main street. Google Maps will take you past the small alley. It's rather dimly lit but I went for lunch. The Bacalhau (salted cod) rice stew is meant to be one of their better dishes. It was a bit too salty but you need to be very careful as there are small fish bones still in the pieces amongst the stew. The fried green beans were good and the salted cod fritters (pasteis de bacalhau) were pretty average. Service was very good.

A wee Italian gem. The food was authentic to Italian cuisine. It had a fab atmosphere. Attention to detail was spot on. I loved the spaghetti Vongole and the tiramisu was to die for.

A hidden gem in the core of Alfama. You wouldn't even notice the entrance, but once you're in you find yourself in a cozy, typical environment. The food tastes amazing, their specialty is the bacalhau (codfish) and they do prepare it in ways that won't make you indifferent. Service is prompt and caring. Only downside, we asked for a dish with no onion and garlic and still they served us the original complete dish - of course it was just a matter of linguistical incomprehension. Overall the experience was great, completely suggested if you are in Lisbon

What a wonderful little place in an intimate, cozy setting! The service was fantastic, with lots of positive attention to our children (ages 9, 9, and 7 years). All of the food dishes were excellent — our compliment to the chefs! The highlight of our Lisbon tour so far.

Delicious restaurant with excellent service. No longer quite a hidden gem - restaurant full of somewhat loud compatriots - but that’s not the fault of the restaurant. Would recommend and go back. The dessert that is a Portuguese specialist, with cinnamon on top, a treat.

We had friends visiting who wanted to dine Portuguese in Alfama but some of them prefer meet to fish. We had a wonderful evening with great service explaining all the dishes and making perfect suggestions for the wine to go along. We felt taken care of very individually and enjoyed all three courses to the fullest. Excellent.

Amazing food. Admittedly, a bit difficult to find. But, it is well worth the search down this little alley. The food was amazing, the service impeccable and, well, I could go on and on. Just a great find. So happy to have had this experience in the few short days we are in Lisbon.

Hidden a little street, we found this perfect place for a nice dinner, discovering the Portuguese specialties. Thanks so much to the waitress and her amazing language ability (we spoke 4 languages and she managed to answer in all of these). The food was really nice, fresh and local and the wine perfect!

Once we found the adorable restaurant in the hills of Alfama, we were warmly greeted by our server who comfortably handled her four tables. She recommended a wonderful bottle of wine but her recommendations for our appetizers and main course was disappointing. The chorizo with eggs had an overpowering Smokey flavor. The second appetizer was a potato bread with steak. Our server was very excited to suggest a Salted Cod dish with potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately the saltiness of the dish made it difficult to eat. We understand that it is salted Cod but, wow, it was very salty. It was our last night in Lisbon and I was hoping for a delicious meal. I’m afraid that our meal missed the mark.

As it was included in "one of the ten best restaurant in Lisbon related to bacalhao" our expectations were very high, but we didn't like very much the food, two different dishes of bacalhao. The attention was good. The lady that attended us was very , professional, kind and polite, but we had to wait a long time to eat. The owner was there, but he only attended a group of portuguese people. The rest of the customers didn't deserve one second of his attention

The food here is phenomenal. The bacalhau espiritual is an insanely comforting dish of salted cod, cream and cheese. Yes, it's sinful but also heavenly!

A unique place. Tiny and intimate, open kitchen, individual attention, superb atmosphere, good food. Out of sight unless you look for it. And very nice life authntic fado bar ( A Pulga) next door
