⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent experience! I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Service was outstanding. Their wine is excellent and their Bacalhau com Natas was simply splendid! It’s a hidden gem in Alfama and a must if you’re in Lisbon!

We had a very pleasant meal at O Beco. The service was excellent - the waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful. We went there for the food, as it specialises in traditional salt cod recipes. The cod fritters were a bit dry, but the ‘camel slobber’ pudding more than made up for that. It’s a small restaurant attractively styled with old wine cases, but we deducted a star for ambience because of the loud music. Maybe we were unlucky sitting under a speaker.

The food was truly a joy. It’s obviously made with every attention to detail. Try the Portuguese pork. I won’t say what the secret ingredient is…experience it and be blown away. The cod fritters were crazy delicious. And don’t forgo dessert. You won’t be disappointed.

Croquets for starters and codfish dish were excellent. My husband's octopus dish was too salty, otherwise would have been good.

It's a small restaurant down a small alley off the main street. Google Maps will take you past the small alley. It's rather dimly lit but I went for lunch. The Bacalhau (salted cod) rice stew is meant to be one of their better dishes. It was a bit too salty but you need to be very careful as there are small fish bones still in the pieces amongst the stew. The fried green beans were good and the salted cod fritters (pasteis de bacalhau) were pretty average. Service was very good.

A wee Italian gem. The food was authentic to Italian cuisine. It had a fab atmosphere. Attention to detail was spot on. I loved the spaghetti Vongole and the tiramisu was to die for.

A hidden gem in the core of Alfama. You wouldn't even notice the entrance, but once you're in you find yourself in a cozy, typical environment. The food tastes amazing, their specialty is the bacalhau (codfish) and they do prepare it in ways that won't make you indifferent. Service is prompt and caring. Only downside, we asked for a dish with no onion and garlic and still they served us the original complete dish - of course it was just a matter of linguistical incomprehension. Overall the experience was great, completely suggested if you are in Lisbon

Nice ambiance but food quite expensive and at best average. We had sausage, prawn curry, octopus. Service was good. On balance, don't think I'd recommend.

What a wonderful little place in an intimate, cozy setting! The service was fantastic, with lots of positive attention to our children (ages 9, 9, and 7 years). All of the food dishes were excellent — our compliment to the chefs! The highlight of our Lisbon tour so far.

Delicious restaurant with excellent service. No longer quite a hidden gem - restaurant full of somewhat loud compatriots - but that’s not the fault of the restaurant. Would recommend and go back. The dessert that is a Portuguese specialist, with cinnamon on top, a treat.

We had friends visiting who wanted to dine Portuguese in Alfama but some of them prefer meet to fish. We had a wonderful evening with great service explaining all the dishes and making perfect suggestions for the wine to go along. We felt taken care of very individually and enjoyed all three courses to the fullest. Excellent.
